본 연구는 대학혁신지원사업 하에서 이루어진 교양교육이 기존의 정량 적·공급자 중심 운영에서 벗어나, 학습자 수요를 기반으로 한 실질적 교 육과정 개선으로 이어질 수 있는 방안 탐색에 목적이 있다. 특히 재학생 의 요구를 분석하고, 이를 실제 교육과정 개편에 반영한 사례를 통해 학 습자 중심 교양교육의 실행 모델을 제시하고자 하였다. 연구 방법으로는 충북 소재 S대학 재학생 453명을 대상으로 약 2주간 온라인 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 빈도분석과 카이제곱 검정을 통해 성별, 학년, 단과대학에 따른 인식 차이를 분석하였다. 또한 분석 결과를 토대로 교육과정 개선 사항이 실제 정책으로 반영되는 환류 과정을 구체적으로 도출하였다. 연 구 결과, 첫째 학생들은 교양 교과목 선택 시 '흥미와 경험'을 가장 중요 한 기준으로 고려하였으며, 둘째 교양교육이 취·창업 역량, 외국어 능력, 컴퓨터 활용 능력 등 실용적 역량 향상에는 충분히 기여하지 못하고 있 다고 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째 컴퓨터 및 AI 활용 능력 강화에 대한 요구가 공통적으로 확인되었다. 이에 따라 대학은 학습자 흥미 기반 교과목 확대, 실무 중심 진로 교과 개편, AI 기반 기초교양 도입 및 융합 교과 신설 등으로 교육과정을 개선하였다. 본 연구에서는 교양교육 개선 에 있어 학습자 요구가 단순 참고자료가 아니라 정책 결정의 핵심 근거 로 활용해야 함을 시사한다. 특히 수요조사-분석-정책 반영-성과 평가로 이어지는 지속적 환류 체계 구축은 향후 대학혁신지원사업 및 고등교육 전반에서 학습자 중심 교육을 구현하기 위한 중요한 정책적·실천적 제안 점을 제공할 것이다.

This study explores how liberal arts education within the University Innovation Support Project can shift toward a student-centered model based on learner needs. A survey of 453 students at S University in Chungbuk was analyzed using frequency analysis and chi-square tests. Results show that students prioritize interest and experiential value in course selection, while perceiving current curricula as insufficient in developing practical competencies such as employment readiness, entrepreneurship, foreign language skills, and digital literacy. There is strong demand for experiential and career-oriented courses, as well as for AI and digital competency education. In response, the university expanded student-interest-based courses, restructured career-oriented subjects, introduced foundational AI courses, and developed interdisciplinary programs. This study proposes a structured feedback system linking needs analysis, curriculum reform, and performance evaluation. It highlights that student needs should serve as a central foundation for policy design and offers a practical model for advancing student-centered liberal arts education.
