본 연구는 RISS에 수록된 KCI 등재 학술논문을 대상으로 국내 국제문화 교류 연구의 담론 구조와 주제적 특성을 분석하고, 향후 연구의 발전 방향 을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 2015년부터 2025년까지 발행 된 논문을 대상으로 '국제문화교류', '문화교류', '문화외교', '문화협력'을 검 색어로 자료를 수집하여 중복 문헌을 제외한 총 1,650편을 분석하였다. 분 석 대상은 논문의 제목, 초록 및 주제어였으며, 분석 방법으로는 R 프로그 램을 활용하여 워드클라우드, 토픽모델링 및 의미연결망 분석을 수행하였다. 연구 결과, 국내 국제문화교류 연구는 정책·협력 중심의 거시 담론과 교육· 문화실천 중심의 미시 담론이 공존하는 이중 담론 구조를 보였으며, 각각 ' 국제교류'와 '문화교류'를 중심으로 서로 다른 연구 맥락이 형성되고 있었 다. 또한 국제문화교류 연구는 교육, 지역 협력, 문화산업의 영역으로 확장 되면서 국가 중심의 문화외교에서 다중 행위자가 참여하는 문화 거버넌스 중심 연구로 발전하고 있었다. 본 연구는 국제교류와 문화교류가 서로 다른 담론 축을 형성하고 있음을 실증적으로 규명함으로써, 국제문화교류를 정책 적 국제협력과 사회문화적 실천이 공존하는 복합적 연구 영역으로 재해석할 수 있는 학술적 근거를 제시하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

This study examines the discourse structure of international cultural exchange research in South Korea by analyzing KCI-indexed journal articles collected from the Research Information Sharing Service (RISS). A total of 1,650 articles published between 2015 and 2025 were analyzed using R with word cloud analysis, topic modeling, and semantic network analysis. The findings revealed a dual discourse structure consisting of a macro-level discourse centered on policy and cooperation and a micro-level discourse focused on education and cultural practice. These two discourse streams were organized around international exchange and cultural exchange, respectively, reflecting distinct research contexts. The results also showed that the field has expanded beyond state-centered cultural diplomacy to encompass education, regional cooperation, and cultural industries, evolving toward a cultural governance perspective involving multiple actors. This study provides empirical evidence that international exchange and cultural exchange constitute distinct discourse domains and offers a new perspective on international cultural exchange as a multidimensional field encompassing both policy-oriented international cooperation and sociocultural practice.
