Theological Reconstruction of the Korean Church’s Missional Understanding in the Age of Migration: Establishing Missional Subjectivity and Sustainable Solidarity
This article theologizes the reconstruction of the Korean church’s mission in the context of global migration and the changing landscape of World Christianity. Migration has reshaped the church’s geographical and cultural boundaries, making the center-periphery paradigm inadequate. Mission is therefore understood not as unilateral sending but as a shared calling realized through reciprocal relationships and voluntary asymmetrical cooperation. This study proposes missional subjectivity and Sustainable Solidarity as key theological conditions and reconstructs mission’s relational structure from the perspectives of the missio Dei and pneumatology. It argues that contemporary mission should be understood as mutual participation among diverse faith communities and offers a framework for rethinking the Korean church’s mission.
