Research Trends in Digital Assistive Technology–Based Occupational Therapy Interventions for Community-Dwelling Older Adults: A Bibliometric Analysis
Objective : This study aimed to identify domestic and international research trends in digital assistive technology–based occupational therapy for community-dwelling older adults and to suggest future research directions. Methods : Bibliographic records were collected from the Web of Science (WoS) and Korea Citation Index (KCI). Keyword co-occurrence network and cluster analyses were conducted using VOSviewer 1.6.20. Results : International studies focused on virtual reality, telehealth, telerehabilitation, wearable devices, and smart home, which were closely associated with rehabilitation and activities of daily living. Domestic studies emphasized artificial intelligence, digital literacy, digital inclusion, and care. Overall, international research primarily explored the clinical application of digital assistive technologies, whereas domestic research focused on technology accessibility and digital competence among older adults. Conclusions : This study identified differences in the knowledge structure and research focus of digital assistive technology–based occupational therapy between domestic and international literature. Future research should evaluate community-based applications of smart homes, telerehabilitation, wearable technologies, and AI-based personalized assistive technologies to support evidence-based occupational therapy practice.
