본 연구는 교정공무원이 경험하는 이중적 역할갈등이 심리적 불편감과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 규명하고, 이중적 역할갈등과 삶의 질의 관계에서 심리적 불편감의 매 개효과를 검증하는 데 목적을 둔다. 연구방법으로는 교정공무원 122명을 대상으로 설 문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0로 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 이중적 역할갈등은 심리적 불편감과 유의한 정적 상관을 보였고, 삶의 질과는 유의한 부적 상관을 보였으며, 심리적 불편감 역시 삶의 질과 유의한 부적 상관을 나타냈다. 또한 이중적 역할갈등은 심리적 불편감에 정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 삶의 질에는 부적인 영향을 미쳤다. 심리적 불편감은 이중적 역할갈등과 삶의 질의 관계에서 부분 매개효 과를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 교정공무원의 정신건강과 삶의 질 문제가 개인적 적응의 차원을 넘어 교정현장에 내재한 구조적 역할갈등의 맥락에서 이해될 필요가 있음을 의미한다. 따라서 본 연구는 교정공무원의 삶의 질 향상과 정신건강 증진을 위해 역할 명료화, 직무체계 정비, 상담 및 심리지원체계 구축과 같은 조직 차원의 개입 필요성 을 제안하였다는 점에서 의의를 가진다.

This study aimed to examine the effects of dual role conflict experienced by correctional officers on psychological discomfort and quality of life. It also aimed to verify the mediating effect of psychological discomfort in the relationship between dual role conflict and quality of life. A survey was conducted with 122 correctional officers. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0. The results showed that dual role conflict had a significant positive correlation with psychological discomfort. It also had a significant negative correlation with quality of life. Psychological discomfort was also negatively correlated with quality of life. In addition, dual role conflict had a positive effect on psychological discomfort. It had a negative effect on quality of life. Psychological discomfort partially mediated the relationship between dual role conflict and quality of life. These findings suggest that the mental health and quality of life of correctional officers should be understood not only as issues of individual adaptation but also in the context of structural role conflict embedded in correctional settings. Therefore, this study is meaningful in that it proposes the need for organizational interventions, such as role clarification, improvement of job systems, and the establishment of counseling and psychological support systems, in order to enhance correctional officers’ quality of life and mental health.
