        We have collected times of minimum light available in the literature for WZ Andromedae and analyzed the nature of the period variations. The O-C diagram of WZ And clearly shows that two abrupt changes near JD 2418000 and JD 2435000 are deduced by dp/p= + 4.24 |timesa 10 − 6 and dp/p= − 2.46 × 10 − 6 , respectively. For these period changes, we have introduced the equations which represent mass exchange in the close binery systems given by Biermann and Hall (1973), and the computation yieleled a mass flow of 7.42 × 10 − 5 M . from the hotter component to the cooler one. Due to the amount of mass flow, the period decrease may also be calculated. The theoritical new period after JD 2435000 became 0.69565858 days, which is in good agreement with the value 0.69566034 days found in the O-C diagram. In this computation, the mass ratio of WZ And suggested that the hotter star is the filling its Rochclooe, and thus WZ And is in Paczynski's stage II.

        Two-Color photoelectric observations were made at Flower and Cook Observatory, University of Pennsylvania. Since the spectroscopic elements are available for the system, derivation of an absolute physical dimension is now expected to be feasible. Results of computation of the orbital elements lead to a fact that the system shows an annular eclipse rather than a partial which is a finding reported by Shapley.

        High-resolution spectroscopic observations of the eclipsing binary system RR Lyn were made using the 1.8 m telescope at the Bohuynsan Optical Astronomical Observatory in Korea. The spectral resolving power was R = 82,000, with a signal to noise ratio of S/N > 150. We found the effective temperatures and surface gravities of the primary and secondary components to be equal to Teff = 7,920 & 7,210 K and log(g) = 3.80 & 4.16, respectively. The abundances of 34 and 17 different chemical elements were found in the atmospheric components. Correlations between the derived abundances with condensation temperatures and the second ionization potentials of these elements are discussed. The primary component is a typical metallic line star with the abundances of light and iron group elements close to solar values, while elements with atomic numbers Z > 30 are overabundant by 0.5–1.5 dex with respect to solar values. The secondary component is a λ Boo type star. In this type of stars, CNO abundances are close to solar values, while the abundance pattern shows a negative correlation with condensation temperatures.

        We present a by-product of our long term photometric monitoring of cataclysmic variables. 2MASS J18024395 +4003309 = VSX J180243.9 +400331 was discovered in the field of the intermediate polar V1323 Her observed using the Korean 1-m telescope located at Mt. Lemmon, USA. An analysis of the two-color VR CCD observations of this variable covers all the phase intervals for the first time. The light curves show this object can be classified as an Algol-type variable with tidally distorted components, and an asymmetry of the maxima (the O’Connell effect). The periodogram analysis confirms the cycle numbering of Andronov et al. (2012) and for the initial approximation, the ephemeris is used as follows: Min I. BJD = 2456074.4904+0.3348837E . For phenomenological modeling, we used the trigonometric polynomial approximation of statistically optimal degree, and a recent method “NAV” (“New Algol Variable”) using local specific shapes for the eclipse. Methodological aspects and estimates of the physical parameters based on analysis of phenomenological parameters are presented. As results of our phenomenological model, we obtained for the inclination i=90°, M1=0.745M◉, M2=0.854M◉, M=M1+M2=1.599M◉, the orbital separation a=1.65·109m=2.37R◉ and relative radii r1=R1/a=0.314 and r2=R2/a=0.360. These estimates may be used as preliminary starting values for further modeling using extended physical models based on the Wilson & Devinney (1971) code and it's extensions

        We presented fundamental stellar parameters and evolutionary statuses of six solar type detached eclipsing binaries whose masses are in the range of 0.97-1.43 M⊙. EK Cep and FL Lyr belong to the zero age main sequence. HS Hya, IT Cas and CD Tau are on the main sequence. Their ages are 1.3, 1.9 and 2.2 Gyr, respectively. Both component stars of AI Phe evolved to sub giants and its age is 4.0 Gyr. Those ages of the detached binary systems show good agreement with the time scale for synchronization and circularization of the binary systems.

        Existing but largely unused binary star model capabilities are examined. An easily implemented scheme is parameterization of starspot growth and decay that can stimulate work on outer convection zones and their dynamos. Improved precision in spot computation now enhances analysis of very precise data. An existing computational model for blended spectral line profiles is accurate for binary system effects but needs to include damping, thermal Doppler, and other intrinsic broadening effects. Binary star ephemerides had been found exclusively from eclipse timings until recently, but now come also from whole light and radial velocity curves. A logical further development will be to expand these whole curve solutions to include eclipse timings. An attenuation model for circumstellar clouds, with several absorption and scattering mechanisms, has been applied only once, perhaps because the model clouds have fixed locations. However the clouds could be made to move dynamically and be combined into moving streams and disks. An area of potential interest is polarization curve analysis, where incentive for modeling could follow from publication of observed polarization curves. Other recent advances include direct single step solutions for temperatures of both stars of an eclipsing binary and third body kinematics from combined light and velocity curves.
