        In this paper, studied on the continuous Up and Down Prestressed Concrete (UD PSC) girder bridge in which the reinforced concrete pier cap is integral with the part of girders in superstructure were performed. In previous studies, it is known that the structural behavior of continuous UD PSC girder bridge is quite different compared to the one of the bridges with conventional bearings or shoes to support the loading from girders. Nevertheless, it has hardly been studied about the structural behavior of bridge with UD PSC girder. Therefore, in this study, various static behaviors of continuous UD PSC girder bridge with integral pier cap have been analyzed using numerical method.

        Rotation-powered pulsars are excellent laboratories for studying particle acceleration as well as fundamental physics of strong gravity, strong magnetic fields and relativity. Particle acceleration and high-energy emission from the polar caps is expected to occur in connection with electron-positron pair cascades. I will review acceleration and gamma-ray emission from the pulsar polar cap and associated slot gap. Predictions of these models can be tested with the data set on pulsars collected by the Large Area Telescope on the Fermi Gamma-Ray Telescope over the last four years, using both detailed light curve fitting, population synthesis and phase-resolved spectroscopy.

        건설환경의 지속적인 변화로 인하여 교량 건설비용의 최소화뿐만 아니라 공용기간중의 유지관리를 포함한 전체 비용의 최소화 및 최적화의 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 이유로 교량의 상부구조에서 하부구조로 힘을 전달하기 위해 사용되는 교량받침 대신에 스터드나 연결철근 등과 같은 연결재를 사용하여 교량의 상부구조와 하부구조를 라멘식으로 일체화 시킨 교량형식이 제시되고 있다. 이 논문은 교량의 상부구조 형식을 연속 UD PSC 거더로 하여 철근콘크리트 교각과 일체화 시킨 교각일체형 연속 UD PSC 거더교를 대상으로 한다. 교각일체형 연속 UD PSC 거더교는 라멘교 형식과 거더교 형식을 결합한 교량으로 일반 받침형식의 교량과 상이한 거동특성을 나타낸다. 하지만 거동 특성에 대해 명확히 규명되어 있지 않다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 해석적 방법을 이용하여 교각일체형 연속 UD PSC 거더교의 동적거동 특성을 분석하고 2, 3경간 교각일체형 연속 UD PSC 거더교에 적용할 수 있는 충격계수 산정식을 제시하였다.

        Polar cap potential has long been considered as an indicator for the amount of energy flowing in the magnetosphere-ionosphere system. Thus, the estimation of polar cap potential is important to understand the physical process of the magnetosphere. To estimate the polar cap potential in the Northern Hemisphere, merging electric field by Kan & Lee (1979) is adopted. Relationships between the PC index and calculated merging electric field (E*) are examined during full-time and storm-time periods separately. For this purpose Dst, AL, and PC indices and solar wind data are utilized during the period from 1996-2003. From this linear relationship, polar cap potential (Φ*) is estimated using the formula by Doyle & Burke (1983). The values are represented as 58.1 ± 26.9 kV for the full-time period and 123.7 ± 84.1 kV for a storm-time period separately. Considering that the average value of polar cap potential of Doyle & Burke (1983) is about 47 kV during moderately quiet intervals with the S3-2 measurements, these results are similar to such. The monthly averaged variation of Dst, AL, and PC indices are then compared. The Dst and AL indices show distinct characteristics with peaks during equinoctial season whereas the average PC index according to the month shows higher values in autumn than in spring. The monthly variations of the linear correlation coefficients between solar wind parameters and geomagnetic indices are also examined. The PC-AL linear correlation coefficient is highest, being 0.82 with peaks during the equinoctial season. As with the AL index, the PC index may also prove useful for predicting the intensity of an auroral substorm. Generally, the linear correlation coefficients are shown low in summer due to conductance differences and other factors. To assess the role of the PC index during the recovery phase of a storm, the relation between the cumulative PC index and the duration is examined. Although the correlation coefficient lowers with the storm size, it is clear that the average correlation coefficient is high. There is a tendency that duration of the recovery phase is longer as the PC index increases.

        eIF4E family is well known for recessive resistance gene of potyvirus in many crops. And Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) is one of the major viruses in Brassicaceae crops which belong to the genus Potyvirus. To elucidate the key amino acids in the interaction between TuMV VPg and Brassica eIF(iso)4E, amino acids of eIF(iso)4E were mutated. Seven amino acids in cap binding pocket were chose for the candidate amino acid that may play a role in the interaction of TuMV VPg. We demonstrated that a single amino acid mutation in cap binding pocket of Brassica eIF(iso)4E can abolish the interaction with TuMV VPg. eIF(iso)4E which has a mutation at each W49, W95 and K150 positions impaired in its interaction with VPg prominently according to the yeast two hybrid analysis. Complementation of an eIF4E knockout yeast strain by mutated eIF(iso)4E proteins showed that all eIF(iso)4E mutants were able to complement eIF4E of yeast. To find out if these mutations affect the susceptibility of Chinese cabbage, transformant analysis was performed. eIF(iso)4E W95L, W95L/K150E and susceptible wild type were over-expressed in susceptible Chinese cabbage. According to the TuMV screening result of T1 and T2 transformants, over-expression of the eIF(iso)4E mutants showed resistance to four TuMV strains (CHN2, 3, 4 and 5). Our results support that the mutations in eIF(iso)4E may control the broad spectrum TuMV resistance.

        비파괴 검사 기술은 현존하는 구조물의 진단을 위해 빈번하게 사용되었고, 사용되고 있다. 이러한 검사들로 본 연구에서 사용된 검사로는 육안적 검사, 해머 사운딩, 슈미트 해머, 그리고 토모그래피를 포함한 초음파 검사 등이 있다. 완료된 비파괴 검사 결과는 국부적으로 수행될 파괴검사의 위치를 산정하는데 사용되었다. 그래서, 압축강도, 염화물, 암석 분류 실험으로 구성된 파괴검사를 수행하였다. 비파괴검사와 파괴검사의 결과들을 종합하여 교각두부의 건전성을 평가하였다. 본 논문에서는 파괴 검사와 비파괴 검사의 적용과 해석, 그리고 이어지는 보수, 보강, 유지 결정 과정에 대해서 나타내었다.
