        The stochastic point-source model has been widely used in generating artificial ground motions, which can be used to develop a ground motion prediction equation and to evaluate the seismic risk of structures. This model mainly consists of three different functions representing source, path, and site effects. The path effect is used to emulate decay in ground motion in accordance with distance from the source. In the stochastic point-source model, the path attenuation effect is taken into account by using the geometrical attenuation effect and the inelastic attenuation effect. The aim of this study is to develop accurate equations of ground motion attenuation in the Korean peninsula. In this study, attenuation was estimated and validated by using a stochastic point source model and observed ground motion recordings for the Korean peninsula.

        The nonlinear stochastic behavior of chaotic inflation is characterized by the 'scaling' effect. Using a simple criterion for the appearance of scaling behavior in the λϕ4 λϕ4 inflation model, we show explicitly that in this limit the onset of the scaling regime does not require any special initial conditions and that it is independent of the self-coupling constant λ λ . Non-Gaussian statistics in adiabatic fluctuations are important only for super-horizon scales and the scaling regime does not lead to any significant statistical properties on currently observable scales. However, the scaling effect gives some cosmological consequences very different from what we expect in the naive diffusion approximation for quantum fluctuations. The classical (deterministic) treatment of the inflation field (essentially a quantum mechanical object.) becomes valid towards the end of inflation.

        There are growing interests in environmental friendly cultivation for the matter of health concern. This study analyzes an economic efficiency of strawberry and tomato farming by considering the role of environmentally friendly cultivation. The Database of Rural Development Administration is used for strawberry and tomato farming households. We adopt a Bayesian stochastic frontier model to resolve a small sample property of the data. Empirical finding is that environmentally friendly cultivation improves the revenue of farming but the effect on net profit is not conclusive which calls for future research.
