Large construction such as tunnel elements and foundations for bridges can be placed on large sea water depths where the water pressure is fairly different from the pressure in the splash zone although main driving force of chloride penetration in concrete have been regarded as diffusion. Moreover, hydrostatic pressure increases in proportional to measured depth from the surface of water because of the increasing weight of water exerting downward force from above. In this study, new experiment method to estimate chloride penetration of concrete under water pressure is introduced. The life length for such a concrete structure on a large sea water depth is estimated using the normally used models and this experimental program.

Leaching is a diffusion-reaction phenomenon which takes place when concrete is exposed to poorly mineralized or acid water. Degradation consists in dissolution of calcium and hydroxide ions out of the matrix, which causes an increase in porosity and transport properties of surface concrete. Leaching is accelerated in neutral and acid solutions, and it may be coupled with the ingress of aggressive ions such as chloride, sulfate, magnesium. For this means, this study computed Ca2+ ion content in pore solution theoretically.

Many researchers have defined critical chloride content as a specific value. The studies reporting critical threshold chloride content have involved the experimental measurement of the average amount of the total chloride content. The studies have tried to define the critical chloride content within the scope of their experimental concrete mix proportion at arbitrary time. However, there is no agreement on its value. The purpose of this study is to explore the combined effect of oxygen and chloride on reinforcement corrosion. In the experimental recipe, water soluble oxygen is taken into account to define the critical chloride content. Corrosion current density of reinforcement was measured by linear polarization resistance method.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of boron compounds on the setting time and compressive strength of mortar, which is well known materials effective to capture thermal neutrons but cause delay in the strength development at early ages. Among various types of boron compounds, a boric acid was mainly considered in this study depending on the replacement level in mortar.

This study investigated the applicability of synthetic resins as neutron shielding aggregates in cementitious materials with SEM analysis. Synthetic resins contain lots of hydrogen atoms, which is effective in neutron shielding by an elastic scattering because its mass is almost the same as that of the neutron. The SEM results showed that the binding force between HDPE/PP particles and cement matrix is very week compared to that of UPE particles so that additional treatment such as surface reforming should be needed.

This study evaluated field application of low heat concrete using hydration heat analysis. The results of hydration heat analysis show that low heat concrete make sure of target thermal cracking index. Therefore, low heat concrete is suitable for field application.

This study is, when we pour the concrete, doing bonding shear performance evaluation to search the influence about an adhesive interface by a generated cold joint with a retardation time. In conclusion, this experiment shows that the higher a compressive strength of the concrete is, the higher a reduction ratio of the bonding shear strength is, and the instance of a none agitation and a compaction with 15 minutes of a retardation time are the lowest influence in a whole of the results; each of the reduction ratio of the bonding shear strength is approximately 4.5%.

This study is corroborated as a fundamental resource to develop structural lightweight foamed concrete. Mortar using foaming agent decrease over 0.3 g/㎤ of weight of unit volume and increase over 27 MPa of compressive strength available structural purpose. After that, it is compared with Young's modulus of experiment and analysis from FEM analysis using SEM image.

This study investigated physcal properties of high performance concrete(HPC) using the garnet(GA) and Fly-ash(FA) under high temperature. After heating up the concrete, its appearance, failure mode, residual compressive strength, weight reduction ratio and other physical properties of concrete, it was mixed with nylon(Ny), polypropylene(PP), steel fiber(SF). The specimen was exposed to 100~800℃ and its crack control, spalling prevention and other physical characteristics were reviewed.

This paper was examined the durability properties of concrete using rapid cooling slag as fine aggregate for concrete. The results of experiments, concrete using rapid cooling slag showed that durability properties was equal to concrete using normal fine aggregate.

To assess the protection performance and the applicability as protective materials of high performance fiber reinforced cementitious composites(HPFRCC), this study performed the impact tests with 40 mm gas-gun propelled projectile crash machine. From this study, it has observed that both high compressive strength of cement matrix and fiber reinforcement are beneficial for the improvement of impact resistance.

So far, various experiments were carried out and published on recycled aggregates. But the structural use of recycled aggregates were very limited. To use a recycled coarse aggregate as structural materials, evaluation of compressive strength and splitting tensile strength were proceed according to replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate.

The purpose of this research is to evaluate the standard deviation and coefficient of variation for flexural strength of lathe scrap reinforced cementitious composites. For this purpose, the cementitious composites containing lathe scrap were repeatedly made 5 times for water-binder ratio of 30%, 2mm width and 40mm length of lathe scrap, and then the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the cementitious composites were estimated. It was observed from the test results that the standard deviation and coefficient of variation of the cementitious composites were slightly larger than plain mortar but did not matter much.

Based on the study of chloride migration coefficient and hydration heat evolution, it was found that the use of ternary blended cement was effective to achieve desired service life and minimum crack index. On the other hand, a high level of compressive strength is required for marine concrete mix design.

This study was intended to investigate the effect of sand particle size on the flowability and strength of UHPC. The experimental results indicated that the sand with the particle size of 0.45~0.89 mm led to the best performance in those properties of UHPC.

The study is compressive strength of 110MPa PHC pile using ground granulated blast furnace slag to NAC, AC curing method. In the result, 20% of ground granulated blast furnace slag could be substituted for cement in PHC pile concrete.

Authors investigated the fatigue bond performance on the grouted joint connection of wind tower. High strength cementeous grout has 140MPa of a compressive strength was incerted in the gap of small scaled steel tube simulated the wind tower joint. The stress level was 65 and 74% of static strength that is 35MPa, respectevely. From the test, each specimens endured the repeated loads up to 2,000,000 cycles.

This study investigated the compressive strength of UHPC according to fiber combination. Test results showed that the PE, PVA and basalt fiber mixtures have lower compressive strength than steel fiber mixture. Compressive strength reduction ratio of PE, PVA and basalt fiber mixtures were 0.95, 0.96 and 0.86, respectively.
