        Flame arrestor as end of line flame arrester for endurance burning prevents a light-back at deflagration and stabilized burning (during and after endurance burning) of potentially explosive vapor-air and gas-air mixtures at the end of vent pipes. In a flame arrestor, spring is an important part. The spring load as well as the spring's elasticity determine when the hood is opened. In addition, the spring have to work in high temperature condition due to gas burning. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze mechanical load and elasticity of spring when gas is burned. Based on the dynamic calculation on working process of a specific flame arrestor, analysis of spring is taken. A three dimensional model for spring burned in flame arrestor by using CFD simulation. Results of the CFD analysis are input in FEM simulation to analyze structure of the spring. The simulation results can predict and estimate the spring’s load and elasticity at variation of the spring’s deflection. Moreover, the obtained result can provide makers with references to optimize design of spring as well as flame arrestor.

        본 연구는 열유도상분리법(thermally induced phase separation, TIPS)을 사용하여, 수처리 분리막에 적용하기 위해, 응고조의 온도 및 열용량의 변화에 따른 분리막의 모폴로지 변화를 관찰하였다. 분리막을 제조하기 위한 소재로는 기계적 물성과 내화학성이 우수한 poly(vinylidene fluoride)(PVDF)와 고분자의 분산 을 도와주는 무기염 소재인 실리카를 사용하였다. 희석제는 dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP)를 사용하였다. 다양한 응고액의 열용량 변화 및 온도에 따른 구조 변화 관찰을 위하여 SEM 이미지를 관찰하였다. 열용량이 증가하거나 응고조의 온도가 높을수록 PVDF의 결정화 속도가 느려져 큰 기공을 나타내며 열용량이 감소하거나 응고조의 온도가 낮을수록 결정화 속도가 증가 하여 작은 기공이 형성되는 것을 확인 하였다.

        The Hong Nang Sida temple is a cultural heritage that must be preserved due to the historical and cultural values that are highly evaluated in the world. The main sanctuary of Hong Nang Sida temple, presumed to have been built in 11th to 12th centuries, has been exposed in the open air for a long time after the collapse. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct the original shape of the Hong Nang Sida temple to reflect the original shape. To do this, it is necessary to examine the overall structure according to the restoration shape. For this purpose, this study analyzes the construction and configuration types for main sanctuary Mandapa of Hong Nang Sida temple, and conducts structural modeling according to actual and restoration plans. The structural and behavioral characteristics are analyzed by comparing stress and displacement values by measurement locations. In addition, we will examine the vertical load distribution by the layers of each wall and cobel arch of the Mandapa using the load distribution method.

        왕복동식 압축기에서 피스톤과 커넥팅로드는 중요한 부분이다. 이러한 주요부에 기계적 부하가 과도하게 가해지면 해당 기부 속이 손상될 수 있으며, 교체하기도 쉽지 않고 비용도 많이 든다. 따라서 내구성과 수명에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 주요 목적은 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 최대 응력 집중 위치를 확인하는 것이다. 이를 위해 설계된 공기압축기의 작업 공정의 동적 계산을 기반으로 피스톤 및 커넥팅로드의 응력 분석을 수행하였다. 공기압축기의 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 3 차원 모델을 따로 설계하고, 이러한 부품들의 유한요소 해석은 수치해석적인 근사해법을 사용하였다. 피스톤은 열 경계 조건 없이 크랭크 샤프트의 각도에 따라 압 력 부하를 받는다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 피스톤과 커넥팅로드의 응력 집중 위치와 그 값을 예측하고 추정할 수 있다. 그 결과 크랭크 각도 135°와 225°에서 피스톤은 190MPa, 커넥팅로드는 123MPa 이상의 최대 등가응력이 나타났으며 이는 인장 항복강도 이하의 값이다. 또한, 커넥팅로드와 피스톤에 계산 된 안전 계수는 1보다 높게 나타났다. 더욱이, 이러한 결과는 왕복동 공기압축기 제작사에 피스톤 및 커넥 팅로드를 설계함에 있어서 최적화를 위한 참고 자료로 활용 될 수 있다.

        Defects of zeolite membranes often lower their separation performance. Thus, the investigation of the defects is highly critical in achieving high separation performance. While general characterization methods (e.g. scanning electron microscopy; SEM) that examine the membrane surface cannot detect defects, the FCOM measurement is able to identify the defective structure inside the zeolite membrane using dye molecules of appropriate size [1]. In this work, various dyeing conditions (times and concentrations) were applied to a MFI zeolite membrane in an attempt to investigate the defective structure. Furthermore, the quantitative analysis is practiced to measure the defects in numerical form.

        Peeling machine has been industrially used to peel the metallic circular bar such as cast iron, cast steel, SUS series. Especially peeling process was reported to not ease in case of SUS series due to its high hardness. Structural analysis for roller jig in peeling machine was performed to evaluate the structural safety. For these purposes, stress, deformation and safety factor were investigated. As the results, maximum stress was occurred at shaft and maximum deformation was occurred at side plate in roller jig. Further since the minimum safety factor of top plate was 8.16 in case of guarantee pressure, it is considered that roller jig of peeling machine in this study was structurally safe.

        In the present study, the structural and fatigue analysis on the shape change of an automatic press are investigated for prediction of operation safety and reliability of the automatic press along the thickness(t) and length(L) of head, and corner shapes(case 1, 2, 3). The equivalent stress and deformation characteristics of the automatic press were studied by computerized analysis method for the bushing production of the seat frame. An external stress of 14.0 MPa was applied to predict the operation stability and the fatigue limit of the structure. As the thickness of the header increased and the length of the header decreased, the load stability applied by the piston improved and the maximum stress and deformation were reduced. In addition, due to the change in shape of the corners, the load applied at the cross-sectional area of the corners decreases, and then the maximum stress and deformation appearing in the header are reduced. That is, the change of corner shapes affects the equivalent stress and deformation. That is the change of corner shapes affects the equivalent stress and deformation. From the fatigue and vibration analysis, fatigue failure does not occur even when the number of alternating operation of the automatic press increases, and the natural frequency is predicted for dynamic characteristics.

        The result of the previous work leads to the idea that the inner area of the hyperbolic shell generator should be minimized for the cooling tower with higher first natural frequency. In this study the inner area of the hyperbolic shell generator was graphically established under varying height of the throat and angle of the base lintel. From the graph, several shell geometries were selected and analysed in the aspect of the natural frequency. Three representative towers reinforced differently due to different first natural frequencies were analysed non-linearly and evaluated using a damage indicator based on the change of natural frequencies. The results demonstrated that the damage behaviour of the tower reinforced higher due to a lower first natural frequency was not necessarily advantageous than the others

        The findings were summarized as follows. The safety check by manufacturer showed that 6 of 13 companies are over the average occurrence of defects. It was expected that there would be a difference between manufacturing technology capability and production system of each manufacturer. Consequently, manufacturers should institutionally improve and strengthen certification items for the upward standardization of safety certification before factory. Second, the safety check by year showed that the results of this study accord with those of previous studies on defect time. Consequently, manufacturers should classify the 3-year-old equipment for vehicle-mounted MEWP into a special check subject to do a nondestructive test according to proven results, and also reflect the test in a safety test system to do regular preventive activities of equipment defects. Third, the safety check by part showed that the boom and outrigger parts of vehicle-mounted MEWP have the most defects. Stress concentration resulted in defects as the boom part was most frequently operated in the structural parts for a real work. To prevent this, it is suitable to improve the hardness of boom materials. The outrigger part needs improvement in safety devices with materials. As an outrigger supports the overturning moment of equipment, it is most affected by its load based on the operating radius, resulting in fatigue crack.

        본 논문에서는 온실 구조물의 구조 성능 검토 시 적합한 모델링 방법을 제시하기 위해 대상 온실 구조물을 선정하고 지점 및 접합부 조건 그리고 케이블 요소의 단면적을 변화시켜 가며 파라메트릭 스터디를 수행하였으며, 이들 파라메터의 변화에 따른 대상 구조물의 주요 모드 형상 및 고유진동수 변화를 조사하였다. 또한 대상 구조물에 대해 현장 가속도계 측정법을 이 용하여 상시진동을 계측하여 주요 모드 형상 및 고유진동수를 측정하여 해석 결과와 비교하였다. 이들 비교 결과로부터 대 상 온실 구조물의 해석에 적합한 모델링 기법을 제시하였다.

        This paper is a study on the nonlinear behavior of polyhedron curved space roof as building structures of quasicrystal system. The quasicrystal is made up of two kinds of parallel hexahedrons, and all the line elements of the parallelepiped have the same length. The quasicrystal design grid dome has a pentagonal symmetry and all members have the same length. This paper described form of design gird dome, and showed the analysis conditions. Also, The displacement-load curve is shown through the analysis and we grasped the flow of the load and forces through analysis of design grid dome applied quasicrystal system.

        Determining of the shape in the process of design for natural draught cooling tower is very important, because the shape of hyperbolic shell is respond sensitively to dynamic behavior of the whole cooling tower against wind load. In engineering practice, the geometric parameters have been determining based on the natural frequency. This study analyses influence of the tower shell geometric parameters on the structural behavior. For three representative models were selected, they were analyzed based on evaluation of damage by means of nonlinear FE-method. As a result, a hyperbolic rotational shell with the small radius overall was the lowest damage index induced by sufficient capacity of the stress redistribution and thus a wind-insensitive structure.

        Shelter that communication equipment and on-equipment material are mounted on is transported by airplane or vehicle, it has a function such as waterproof and shielding EMI. When the shelter is transported by car or helicopter, it is shocked by vibration and crash with the ground. So, three skids are attached to bottom of the shelter to reduce the shock. To confirm the durability of the structure of shelter, parallel drop and rotating drop test were done in accordance with KDS 0000-0000. However, the damage was discovered in the shelter. So, stiffening plate was added to skid and panel of partition wall to obtain durability and changed the shape of rubber buffer. In this paper, the cause of deformation and damage in the shelter was analyzed and improved shape through the structural analysis was verified.
