        In this study, the change of cooling water temperature (72, 85, 95 ℃) and engine speed (1,800, 2,000, 2,200, 2,400rpm) were experimentally investigated to confirm the operation performance characteristics of auxiliary engine for refrigeration unit. The experimental setup consisted of fuel consumption meter, power meter, and heat transfer unit. The operation performances such as BSFC, exhaust temperature, power generation, and engine efficiency of the auxiliary engine showed similar characteristics in the present experimental range, according to the change of cooling water temperatures and rpms. As the torque increased, the BSFC decreased significantly and the exhaust temperature increased. The power generation increased linearly and the efficiency was insignificant at more than 40 Nm torque.

        In this study, the effect of carbon equivalent and cooling rate on microstructure and hardness of A516 steels for pressure vessel is investigated. Six kinds of specimens are fabricated by varying carbon equivalent and cooling rate, and their microstructures and hardness levels are analyzed. Specimens with low carbon equivalent consist of ferrite and pearlite. As the cooling rate increases, the size of pearlite decreases slightly. The specimens with high carbon equivalent and rapid cooling rates of 10 and 20 oC/s consist of not only ferrite and pearlite but also bainite structure, such as granular bainite, acicular ferrite, and bainite ferrite. As the cooling rate increases, the volume fractions of bainite structure increase and the effective grain size decreases. The effective grain sizes of granular bainite, acicular ferrite, and bainitic ferrite are ~20, ~5, and ~10 μm, respectively. In the specimens with bainite structure, the volume fractions of acicular ferrite and bainitic ferrite, with small effective grains, increase as cooling rate increases, and so the hardness increases significantly.

        In this study, the cooling and heating amount, temperature, flow rate of turbine type heat meter for water source heat-pump system were experimentally investigated at the standard operating conditions. The obtained cooling and heating capacity from the heat meter were deviated within 5.0%, 3.8% comparing with the precise values calculated from an accredited test facility. Even though the accumulated cooling and heating amount values of the heat meter had a small difference comparing with the precise values, the temperatures of heat meter showed greatly different values comparing with the precise temperature. Therefore, it is highly recommended to develop the heat meter which is appropriate for the water source heat pump systems.

        As a case study on aspect ratio behavior, Kaolin, zeolite, TiO2, pozzolan and diatomaceous earth minerals are investigated using wet milling with 0.3 pai media. The grinding process using small media of 0.3 pai is suitable for current work processing applications. Primary particles with average particle size distribution D50, ~6 μm are shifted to submicron size, D50 ~0.6 μm, after grinding. Grinding of particles is characterized by various size parameters such as sphericity as geometric shape, equivalent diameter, and average particle size distribution. Herein, we systematically provide an overview of factors affecting the primary particle size reduction. Energy consumption for grinding is determined using classical grinding laws, including Rittinger's and Kick's laws. Submicron size is obtained at maximum frictional shear stress. Alterations in properties of wettability, heat resistance, thermal conductivity, and adhesion increase with increasing particle surface area. In the comparison of the aspect ratio of the submicron powder, the air heat conductivity and the total heat release amount increase 68 % and 2 times, respectively.

        원심 해수냉각 펌프를 분석하기 위하여 다른 운전 유량에 대한 캐비테이션 거동을 조사하였다. 3D 2상 해석은 ANSYS-CFX 상 용코드로 수행되었다. 해석에는 k-ε 난류와 Rayleigh-Plesset cavitation 모델이 사용되었다. 수치 예측에 기초하여 세 가지 토출 유량값에 대 하여 헤드 드롭 특성곡선이 작성되었다. 더 높은 유량에서 임펠러는 버블 캐비테이션에 보다 취약하다. 0.7Q, Q 및 1.3Q(Q: 설계 유량)에서 작동하는 펌프의 3 % 헤드 드롭 위치는 각각 NPSHa 1.21 m, 1.83 m 및 3.45 m에 해당한다. 증기 기포의 볼륨이 예측되고 캐비테이션의 위치는 임펠러 내에서 발생하는 캐비티를 시각화하여 예상하였다. 또한, 압력계수와 날개 부하 분포가 구체적으로 제시되어 캐비테이션이 펌프 운전에 미치는 해로운 영향을 나타냈다. 또한, 압력계수 분포와 날개부하 차트가 구체적으로 제시되어, 펌프 운전에 캐비테이션이 미치는 해로운 영향을 나타냈다.

        The cooling process in the injection molding requires the longest time. Therefore, a lot of studies have been conducted to reduce the cooling time. In particular, studies on conformal cooling channels using 3D printing are actively being conducted. In this study, the effect of the conformal cooling channel considering the hood shape instead of the conventional linear cooling channel was investigated by injection molding analysis. In the analysis results, when the conformal cooling channel was applied, the length deformation of the molded product was reduced by about 33% and the circular deformation of the hood assembled on the lens was reduced by about 7.1㎛.

        Experiments of local cooling and heating on crown and root zone of forcing cultivation of strawberry ‘Seolhyang’ using heat pump and root pruning before planting were conducted. During the daytime, the crown surface temperature of the crown local cooling treatment was maintained at 18 ~ 22oC. This is suitable for flower differentiation, while those of control and root zone local cooling treatment were above 30oC. Budding rate of first flower clusters and initial yields were in the order of crown local cooling, root zone local cooling and control in root pruning plantlet and non pruning plantlet, except for purchase plantlet. Those of root pruning plantlet were higher than those of non pruning plantlet. These trends were evident in the yield of the first flower cluster until February 14, 2018, and the effect of local cooling and root pruning decreased from March 9, 2018. The budding rates of the second flower cluster according to the local cooling and root pruning treatments were not noticeable compared to first flower cluster but showed the same tendency as that of first flower cluster. In the heating experiment, root zone local heating(root zone 20oC+inside greenhouse 5oC) and crown local heating(crown 20oC+inside greenhouse 5oC) saved 59% and 65% of heating fuel, respectively, compared to control(inside greenhouse 9oC). Considering the electric power consumption according to the heat pump operation, the heating costs were reduced by 55% and 61%, respectively.

        In this study, we have investigated the optimal control method and the energy saving possibility when the dimming control for lighting and the suspended particles display(SPD) glass for window were applied to reduce the lighting load and the cooling load in office buildings. Simulations were carried out during from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm of typical one day on summer, winter and intermediate season. Simulation results showed that the cooling and lighting energy usage was reduced to 21.2% compared to the baseline model. Therefore, it was possible to predict the optimum control method of the suspended particles display(SPD) window to control the transmittance for energy saving and the dimming control for lighting during summer season.

        Cooling operation characteristics of multi-A/C(air conditioner)s were experimentally investigated for combination of indoor units (A+B, A+C, B+C) and operating conditions (standard, overload, low temperature and low temperature freezing). The operating data and performance of the air conditioner were measured using a multi-calorimeter. We also observed compressor frequency and pressure variations. From the experimental results, it was found that the cooling performance and the operating characteristics depend on operation combination of indoor units, in the case of 2 room simultaneous operation. In the four types of cooling tests, the cooling capacity and COP of the 3 room simultaneous operation and 2 room simultaneous operation were similar. Through this experimental study, data on the simultaneous operation characteristics of 2 room simultaneous operation according to the changes of indoor and outdoor temperature of four kinds were obtained.

        온실의 냉난방부하 산정을 위해 설계자가 선택해야할 주요 변수들에 대하여, 이들 설계 변수가 냉난방부하에 미치는 영향을 평가하기 위해서 각각의 설계 변수값을 변화시키면서 시뮬레이션을 실시하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 특별히 선택에 주의를 기울여야 할 설계 변수를 제안하였다. 난방부하에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 설계 변수는 피복재의 열관류율이고, 다음으로 설계외기온인 것으로 나타났다. 연동수에 따른 설계 변수의 영향은 차이가 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 단동 온실의 경우에는 지중전열 관련 설계 변수의 영향을 무시할 수 없을 것으로 생각되지만, 연동 온실의 경우에는 지중전열 관련 변수 및 틈새환기율의 영향이 미미한 것으로 판단되었다. 냉방부하에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 설계 변수는 온실내로 유입되는 일사량과 증발산계수이고, 다음으로 실내외 기온차, 환기율인 것으로 나타났다. 설계 변수의 영향은 단동 온실과 연동 온실에서 큰 차이를 보였으나, 연동수에 따른 차이는 거의 없는 것으로 나타났다. 피복재의 열관류율은 단동 온실이나 연동 온실 모두 영향이 미미한 것으로 나타났지만, 실내외 기온차 및 환기율의 경우에는 냉방부하에 미치는 영향을 무시할 수 없을 것으로 생각되며, 특히 연동 온실에서 그 영향이 더 큰 것으로 판단되었다. 냉방부하를 산정할 때 실내 목표온도를 낮게 설정할수록 설계 변수의 선택에 신중해야 한다. 특히, 실내 목표온도를 외기온 보다 낮게 설정하면 환기율 및 열관류율 값이 냉방부하를 증가시키는 방향으로 바뀌므로 더욱 주의해야 한다. 환기율이 낮을 때는 설계 변수 중 설계일사량과 증발산계수의 선택에 주의해야 하고, 환기율이 높을 때는 실내 설정온도와 설계외기온의 선택에 신중을 기해야 한다.

        The cooling operating characteristics of the 3 room air conditioner are experimentally investigated for the number of the indoor units (A, B, C) and the operating conditions (standard, overload) under the cooling operation. The cooling capacity and COP were calculated using a multi-type calorimeter. Also, EEV opening, compressor frequency, and superheat degree were obtained when the compressor started. From the experimental results, we can see that the performance and operation characteristics of the air conditioner depend on the indoor unit operation method. In case of simultaneous and single operation, the cooling overload performance was measured lower than the standard condition. Also, in the overload operation, the power consumption of the compressor was greatly increased and the COP was also decreased.
