        PURPOSES : The objective of this study is to evaluate the performance of combined organic and inorganic hybrid mortar used as repair materials (UM mortar) for concrete road facilities by comparison with cement repair materials (RM mortar). METHODS: In order to produce UM mortar, four different levels of inorganic materials were adopted and the ratio of main resin to hardener was fixed at 1:2. For comparison, RM mortar made with cement repair materials was also produced. Fluidity, strength characteristics, length change, and freezing-thawing resistance of the mortars were measured at the predetermined periods. In addition, the microstructures of the mortars was performed on the 28-day mortar samples to examine the properties of the interfacial transition zone (ITZ). RESULTS : It was observed that the mechanical properties, except for compressive strength, and freezing-thawing resistance of UM mortars were much better than those of RM mortar. Furthermore, showing a densified ITZ properties on the UM mortars from the microstructural observation, the usage of UM mortars exhibited a beneficial effect on the enhancement of mortar properties. CONCLUSIONS: It is concluded that the application of combined organic and inorganic hybrid mortars is a possible option for the repair of deteriorated concrete road facilities.

        The objective of this study was to identify the proteins actively involved in the protection and repair of damaged cells, secreted by canine adipose derived mesenchymal stem cells (AT-MSCs) into the conditioned media. For this purpose, conditioned media (CM) was recovered from passage three stage canine AT-MSCs and skin fibroblasts cultured in serum free media after 24, 48 and 72 h. The extraction of exosomes was performed from 10-20 ml of CM using total exosome isolation kit. The isolated exosomes were then subjected to western analysis for the identification of annexin-I, annexin-II, histone H3 and dysferlin proteins. Results demonstrated the expression of proteins in the conditioned media isolated from canine AT-MSCs reflecting their potential in reducing the extent of damage at cellular levels. In conclusion, the conditioned media derived from canine AT-MSCs can be helpful in restoring the normal structure of cells both in vivo and in vitro conditions.

        In recent years, pavement distresses have been caused by diverse factors such as spalling, deterioration of repaired sections, blow-up, and alkali aggregate reaction due to changing climate environment of a concrete pavement and its construction and maintenance conditions (supply of materials, increase in use of de-icers, etc,). As a leading repair method for deteriorated concrete pavements, partial-depth repair is implemented in accordance with guidelines of material properties for joints of a concrete pavement and field application evaluation systems, but still some of the repaired sections become deteriorated again at an early stage due to poor construction quality and failure of response to environmental impacts. Distresses that can be corrected with partial-depth repairs are largely divided into those of repair materials and of the existing pavement bonded to repair materials, and combined distress of repair materials and the existing pavement. Although re-repair methods should be different by distress type and scale than conventional pavement repair methods, appropriate repair methods and guidance for re-repairs have not been in place so far, and therefore currently, re-repair practices follow the existing manual of partial depth repairs. Therefore, this study evaluated concrete bond characteristics by removing method and repair scope for an experimental section of frequently distressed pavements to determine a re-repair scope and method for deteriorated partial depth repair sections of concrete pavement, the number of which has increased over time.

        PURPOSES : The frequency and severity of natural disasters such as torrential rain or typhoons have become increasingly significant worldwide. Events such as summer typhoons and localized torrential downpour can cause severe damages to a residential area and road networks, resulting in serious harm to the daily lives of people, especially in rural areas by isolating residents from road networks. An immediate and emergency repair technology for the collapsed road networks is urgently needed. This study introduces a new technology to repair road bases or slopes. METHODS: The development of new technology for emergency and permanent repair consists of first, packing of cement paste-coated gravel, second, combining appropriate equipment, and third, conducting a field applicability test. In this research, the compressive strength of cement pastecoated gravel, gravel-netting concrete properties, and packing efficiency were determined, and a full scale field mock-up test was carried out. RESULTS : The compressive strength of the cement paste-coated gravel concrete satisfied the required limit for road base of 5 MPa after 7 days. With appropriate netting materials and packing size, gravel-netting concrete was successful up to a slope of 1:1.5. The full scale field mockup test showed efficiency in the field and penetration resistance performance. CONCLUSIONS: The new technology of emergency and permanent repair for damaged road bases and slopes, introduced in this study, showed satisfactory performance. The technology is expected to be applied in the field when construction procedures and quality specifications are made.

        Purpose of this study is to describe the treatment, surgery, rehabilitation and return to daily life subject pectoralis major muscle rupture. The in patient with was a 26 years old, injured in training due to hyperextension and external rotation. Physical examination, manual test, and MRI were used to diagnose pectoral muscle rupture and operation took for the pectoralis major muscle rupture with allograft. The subject was referred for rehabilitation from 3 weeks. Range of motion (ROM) exercise was mainly performed until 3 months, strength was performed with tubing band, body weight, machine training and proprioceptive exercise. Shoulder range of motion (external rotation, flexion) were measured with goniometer and muscle strength (flexion, adduction, internal rotation) were measured with dynamometer. At 6momths, external rotation ROM was 50° (unaffected side 60°), and flexion almost recovered at 3 months. Muscle strength was gradually increased to 6.2kg, 15.7kg, and 27.0kg in flexion, while internal rotation The pain remained slightly after 9 months. The present results suggest that ROM exercise and strengthening exercise increase the muscle power and ROM, and decrease the pain.

        Assessment of noise exposed population is to check the environment noise level and social influence in order to reduce the risks such as annoyance and disturbance that are generated by environmental noise. Also, this method suggests the preferential noise abatement policy and action plan by accurately finding the area that the noise causes harmful effect to human health. Recently, a noise map, which can predict noise in comprehensive area, is used for the assessment of noise exposed population, breaking from the methods using existing measures. In particular, countermeasure for noise can be considered more effectively by using assessment methods of noise exposed population for specific noise level, area, and building types which are the main input factors in noise maps. In this study, we propose noise reduction ranking decision at ship construction and repair process due to noise map.

        The object of this paper is to examine the noise generating mechanism at ship construction and repair precess. To accomplish the object; A noise generating mechanism of high noise machine, which is mounted in the ship construction and repair process, was investigated. The measurement method of the noise for the machine by ship construction were investigated. The noise at the 250 points of the manufacturing process machine in the 40 processes of the 3 factories, 3 business fields was measured. The database of the noise was built from the measurement data. The major sound sources and frequency range for the manufacturing process of metal material product machine was investigated.

        PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to suggest the construction and quality control method for the re-repair of a deteriorated partial depth repair for sections of Portland cement concrete pavement. METHODS : An experimental construction was conducted to extend the repair width for removing an existing repair section. A removal method was used to ensure early performance for a deteriorated partial depth repair section. Bond strength and split tensile strength were measured at the near vertical interface layer between the existing pavement and repair material. The area was analyzed for various conditions such as the extended repair area and the removing method of the existing repair section. RESULTS : As a result of analysis of bond strength and split tensile strength, the bonding performance of a milling removed section was improved over a cutting and hand breaker removed section. The bond strength was analyzed to increase slightly as the extended repair width for removing the existing repair section increased. The split tensile strength did not show a clear relationship to an increased extended repair width of an existing removed repair section. CONCLUSIONS: The milling removal method should be applied in the removal of existing deteriorated partial depth repair sections. The extended repair width for a re-repair section should be wider than the existing partial depth repair with at least a 75-mm length and width for the bond strength and the split tensile strength.

        The acetyltransferase Tip60 (Kat5) is a member of the MYST family of HATs that was initially identified as a cellular protein. TIP60 acetylates histone and non-histone proteins, and is involved in diverse biological processes, including apoptosis, cell cycle, and DNA damage responses. In this study, a specific inhibitor of TIP60, Nu 9056, was used to study the function and its regulatory mechanism of Tip60 in the porcine preimplantation embryonic development. The results showed that inhibition of TIP60 impaired the embryonic development due to induce DNA damage through ATM-p53-p21 pathway, it was evidenced by expression of γH2A in the nuclei of blastocysts. In addition, TIP60 inhibition decreased efficiency of DNA repair by regulating P53 binding protein 1 expression. Furthermore, autophagy was induced following TIP60 inhibition through modulating microtubule-associated protein 1A/1B-light chain 3 expression. In conclusion, the results suggest that TIP60 plays a critical role in early embryonic development via regulation of DNA damage and its repairs.

        The durability degradation of concrete pavement by winter deicer is brought up as a significant risk, and its maintenance brings a high expense. Therefore, a proper repair materials for such concrete pavement are required. In this study, the properties of compressive strength, ability to resist chloride ion penetration, and dry shrinkage of Chemically bonded ceramics(CBC) and Calcium Sulfo Aluminate based ultra rapid harding cement(CSA) were assessed to evaluate its applicability as a repair material of concrete pavement road. As a result, the CBC mortar flow showed a 220㎜, and the initial setting time of CBC was 18 minutes. The compressive strength of CBC mortar was 31.3㎫ in 2 hours, 56.6㎫ in 24 hours, and 79.1㎫ in 28 days, showing a significant level. And the ability to resist chloride ion penetrations of CBC showed 433 Coulombs, which fell under very low level. The drying shrinkage of CBC mortar until 56 days was between 150 × 10-6 with -100 × 10-6, showing a significant very low level. As above, CBC has excellent compressive strength, chloride ion penetration resistance, and volume stability, and showed better performance than CSA. Therefore, CBC in the future could be used in repair of concrete pavement.

        기관손상사고에 따른 수리작업 이후 동일한 원인으로 재발하는 경우에 대해 선박의 추진축계의수리 공정에 대해 고찰하였다. 그 결과 line boring machine 개선이 필요하며 Kit process 적용으로 엔진 수명 연장이 가능한 것으로 분석되었다.

        Suh, Kyunghee. 2016. “I mean as a Marker of ‘Interpersonal Repair’ in Crisis Negotiation”. The Sociolinguistic Journal of Korea 24(3). 223~247. This study investigates the discourse marker I mean in two transcripts of the 1993 Waco siege negotiations, paying special attention to its discursive use as a marker of ‘interpersonal repair’. Both quantitative and qualitative studies are carried out with a view to presenting its uses by two types of participants – the FBI and the Person of Interest (POI) - and the goals of a given negotiation. Where the FBI debate Judy’s release, I mean is frequently used by the FBI to stress the utmost urgency of having to treat Judy’s wounds; in the other set of data, however, it is used by the POI to bolster his position while blaming the other party, in the context of a more confrontational conversation between the POI and FBI. The finding suggests that I mean in crisis negotiations can be used to indicate that an upcoming adjustment is made in a more strengthening way, providing a noticeable contrast to previous findings where I mean serves as a mitigator, presaging a less-face threatening rephrasing of interpersonal repair. The finding further suggests that I mean’s basic meaning is particularized by both the goals of the talk it occurs and the specific negotiation situation.

        Even though we had a lot of obstacles to solve these issues, Jeju National University , Hokkaido University, Hawaii University, American Graduate School of the Paris, and University of Sydney have raised reparation topics through the Peace Island Forum, Peace Island Leadership School and Global Peace Bultuk Assemblies (Bultuk being a meeting place of Jeju woman divers surrounding stones at the sea side) since July of 2010. It was a cornerstone achievement that we presided over at "SOCIAL HEALING THROUGH JUSTICE: THE MASS KILLING OF KOREA JEJU ISLANDERS DURING U.S. PEACETIME OCCUPATION" with the University of Hawaii Law School and Hokkaido University together. Based on these gatherings we can start the Petition by Jeju people on Jeju Island Korea, which is calling for A JOINT SOUTH KOREA AND UNITED STATES JEJU 4.3 INCIDENT TASK FORCE TO FURTHER IMPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS AND FOSTER COMPREHENSIVE AND ENDURING SOCIAL HEALING THROUGH JUSTICE to advance the mutual interests of Jeju residents and the governments and people of South Korea and the United States ( March 27, 2014).
