본 연구는 향후 초등학교 교육용 기본 어휘와 기초한자를 선정함에 있어 실제 선정의 단계에 진입하기 이전에 기본적으로 고려되어야 할 사항과 그 선정의 방 법에 대한 구체적인 설계를 하는데 중점을 두었다. 이는 실제 선정보다 더욱 중요 한 선정의 방법과 절차에 대해 논의를 진행하고, 그 논의를 토론자를 비롯한 많은 연구자들의 관심과 참여를 통해 합리적이고 구체적인 설계의 방법을 도출해 냄으 로써, 이후 구체적인 선정 단계와 그 적용에 있어 예상되는 문제를 최소화하고, 초등한자교육의 정상화를 위한 기초를 마련할 수 있으리라 생각하기 때문이다. 이를 위해 본고에서는 우선 국어교과를 비롯하여 타 언어 교과에서 어떻게 어 휘를 선정하고, 그 어휘를 교육에 활용하는가를 살펴보고, 초등 한자교과에서 어 떻게 기본 어휘와 기초 한자를 선정할 것인가에 대해 논의하였다. 특히 한국어에서 한자어와 한자가 가지는 중요성과 특수성을 밝히고, 그러한 특 수성을 가장 잘 반영하기 위해서 무엇을 고려해야하는지와 그 단계를 어떻게 설 정할 것인가에 집중하였다. 기존의 어원별 분류와는 다르게 한자어를 투명도, 상용도, 영역의 확장 측면에 서 분류할 것과 아울러 선정의 실제 있어서 고려해야할 점, 즉, 파생어, 합성어, 접두어, 접미어 등을 어떻게 구분하여 기초자료로 삼을 것인가에 대해 밝혔다. 동시에 초등한자교육의 단계로 투명도가 높은 어휘에 대한 어휘중심의 교육, 한 자중심의 교육, 투명도가 낮은 어휘에 대한 복합교육으로 단계를 설정하였다.

This write focus on about in the primary school education, should be considered what and how using some method and its specific design which for selection basic vocabulary by based on chinese character and essential chinese character set before go to actual step in Korea. Through this discussion, we can find some problem and can progress improve method and design, it make after selecting the specific steps in its applicability, and is expected to minimize the problem, the normalization education form. So, search and discuss about other languages, including language education curriculum and how to select vocabulary, the vocabulary used in education. And, describe Korean and Chinese character Chinese character reveal the importance and uniqueness, such specificity is best considered to reflect what should I do, and set the stage concentrated. I suggest have to consider instead the existing separate method which words by chinese character according origin, directly define word meaning by chinese character meaning and view of that words specific, like a derivatives, compound words, prefixes, suffixes, etc. Also, have a design study step, in the directly define word meaning by chinese character meaning vocabulary area, focus on through words study find its character study. Go to upper stage through character study expand words study what compound with learned chinese character. In the not directly define word meaning by chinese character meaning vocabulary area, using mixing two method which words learn and character learn.
