21세기 정보화, 산업화, 고령화 사회의 진행과 더불어 다양해진 사회문제로 인하여, 질 높은 사회복지 서비스의 요구는 더욱 증대되고 있으나, 사회복지사들의 처우는 개선되고 있지 않아 사회복지발전의 저해요인이 되고 있다. 그러므로 국가의 복지국가구현이란 목표 달성을 위해서는 사회복지사 및 종사자들의 처우개선에 힘써야 할 것이다. 무엇보다 임금임상, 근무조건개선, 신분보장, 역량강화를 위한 프로그램제공이 시급하다 하겠다. 이를 통하여 사회복지사 및 종사자들이 사회복지 전문가로서 자부심을 갖고, 소외된 클라이언트들의 아픔을 어루만져 주며, 그들의 자립을 도와주는 역할을 다할 수 있을 것이다.

In the 21st century, advanced information development, industrialization, and aging society, as well as diverse social problems, increasingly call for high-quality social welfare services. However, social workers are not given proper treatment, thus hampering social welfare development.Therefore, to achieve the state’s goal of embodying a welfare nation, the government should endeavor to improve the treatment of social workers and relevant workers. Above all, programs need to be introduced with top priority to increase wages, improve working conditions, guarantee status, and bolster capabilities. This will boost the pride of social workers and relevant employees as experts to enable them to competently take care of marginalized members of our society, and to help them stand on their own feet.
