Yeats wanted his divided nation to be united. He believed there would be a united community embracing people with a wide range of different religions, nationalities, and culture while preserving their specific features. After the Rebellion of Easter in 1916, Yeats saw the possibility of such a community and he wrote a poem, “Easter, 1916.” This poem shows his thought about community, which becomes obvious with Spinoza’s.
