네덜란드와 미국에서 최근에 육성된 절화 및 분화용26품종을 도입하여 무름병저항성 및 개화특성을 평가하였다. 국립원예특작과학원 무가온 비닐하우스내에서 여름재배시 무름병발생 및 생육, 개화특성을 조사한 결과, 무름병은 ‘Picasso’, ‘Dark Eyes’, ‘Murano’가 포장발병율이낮고, 저항성에도 강한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 ‘Picasso’는 포장발병율이 5.8%로 가장 낮았고, 잎절편상처접종법에서도 0.3으로 가장 강한 저항성을 나타냈다. 기형화 발생 수는 ‘Sienna’가 주당 1.6개로 가장 많았고, ‘IntimateIvory’, ‘Pillow Talk’에서는 발생하지 않았다. 개화소요일수는 33일로 ‘Amigo’, ‘Mistral’이 평균 32.6일과 32.8일로 가장 빨랐고 가장 늦은 품종은 ‘Prado’로 75.6일이소요되었다. ‘Aquila’, ‘Tyris’는 절화용 품종으로 주당 절화수량이 각각 평균 4.2개와 4.4개로 많은 다수성 품종이나, 기형화 발생이 많고 무름병에 감수성이었다. ‘PillowTalk’, ‘Mistral’과 ‘Picasso’는 주당 화수가 많을 뿐 아니라 개화까지 소요일수가 짧아 절화분화 겸용으로의 활용도가 높은 것으로 평가되었다. 또한 화경장이 26cm 내외로 짧은 ‘Callifornia Red’와 ‘Tuno’ 등은 분화용으로활용할 수 있을 것으로 평가되었다.

This study was conducted to investigate aresistance to soft rot caused by Erwinia carotovora andflower characteristics in 26 Zantedeschia cultivars of thesection Aestivae introduced from the Netherlands (2012)and the USA (2013). Among 26 cultivars, ‘Picasso’, ‘DarkEyes’, and ‘Murano’ were evaluated as highly resistantgenotypes to soft rot. Especially, ‘Picasso’ had the highestresistance with 5.8% disease incidence under fieldcondition and 0.3 disease index through leaf wound test,respectively. The average number of malformed flowersper plant in ‘Sienna’ was 1.6, the highest in the testedcultivars. No malformed flower was observed in ‘IntimateIvory’ and ‘Pillow Talk’. Days to flowering in ‘Amigo’ and‘Mistral’ were 32.6 and 32.8, the early flowering cultivars,whereas days to flowering in ‘Prado’ were 76. ‘Aquila’ and‘Tyris’ which could be used as cut flowers based on plantheight and flower stalk length were elite in flower size andnumber of flowers per bulb, but they were susceptible tosoft rot. ‘Pillow Talk’, ‘Mistral’, and ‘Picasso’ had thegreatest number of flowers per bulb and medium flowerstalk length around 45cm, thus these cultivars could beconsidered as both cut flowers and pot plants. Flower stalklength of ‘California Red’ and ‘Tuno’ was around 26cmwhich could be suitable for pot plants.
