본 연구는 국내 식물원･수목원 총 10개소를 대상으로 이용자의 행태 분석과 만족도 평가를 실시하였다. 식물원･수목원의 이용객들의 전반적인 현황을 파악하고 공립 및 사립 식물원･수목원의 만족도를 비교‧분석하여 이용자를 고려한 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 행태 분석에서 이용자들은 상대적으로 입장료가 낮은 공립에 대한 방문 횟수가 더 잦게 이루어지고 있었다. 접근을 위해서는 원거리(3시간 이내)에 있음에도 불구하고 사립 식물원･수목원을 찾는 이용객이 공립에 비해 두배 이상 높은 것으로 나타났다. 방문 동기, 목적에 있어서 지인 소개로, 휴양을 위해 이용하는 경향이 높았다. 이용자 만족도 평가에 있어서 종합 만족도는 50%이상으로 높은 경향을 나타내었으며 소 만족도 평가에서 대상지 특성은 전체적으로 사립에서 만족도가 높았다. 이는 접근성, 공간구성, 동선 측면에서 공립보다 긍정적인 평가를 받고 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 유지관리에 있어서는 공공시설적 측면에서 사립이 공립보다는 만족도가 약간 낮게 나타나 복지시설을 위한 보완이 필요한 것으로 판단되었다. 그러나 안내시설, 식물표찰, 시설물 안전성 등의 세심한 관리에 있어서는 사립에 대한 만족도가 높았다. 서비스 측면에서 입장료 부과가 상대적으로 높은 사립에서 입장료 및 안내원 친절도에 있어 만족도가 높게 나타났다. 연구조사 결과, 이용자들은 휴양형의 고급여가문화를 선호하는 것으로 파악할 수 있었다. 이는 과거의 낮은 입장료, 대면적의 일률적인 관람코스에서 벗어나 창의적이면서 다양한 체험과 휴양기능을 충족시킬 수 있는 질적 녹색여가생활에 대한 요구도가 높아지고 있는 것으로 판단할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 이용자 만족 경향을 파악하기 위하여 설문의 만족도 현황에 따른 단순 비교, 분석에 의해 도출한 결과로서 종합 만족도와 소 만족도들간의 구체적인 상관성 및 우선영향인자 추출 등에 따른 객관적 지침 마련에 있어 한계점을 갖는다. 향후, 만족도에 영향을 미치는 요인의 우선순위를 결정하여 운영, 관리방안에 적용해야 할 것이다. 이러한 우선인자를 적용, 보완한 후에도 모니터링이 지속적으로 진행되어야 할 것이며 이를 통하여 적재적소의 특화된 수준 높은 휴양 및 교육 문화가 정착되어져야 할 것이다.
The purpose of the research is to analyse and evaluate the satisfaction level of users of 10 Korean botanic gardens and arboretums in Korea. The visitors’ satisfaction of public and private botanic gardens and arboretums is compared and analysed to suggest an effectively utilized plan. In general, users tend to visit public botanic gardens and arboretums due to the cheap entrance fee. The results indicate that the largest number of users occurred at eleven o’clock and left 3 o’clock in the afternoon. Therefore the highest number of users is from eleven to 3pm and most visitors tend to stay for 1~3 hours in the location of the publics which are within walking distance of 1 hour. The number of users visiting the privates is two times higher than the publics despite the fact that its location is further than the publics(within 3 hours). The botanic gardens and arboretums were visited mostly for the purpose of leisure and by acquaintances. Overall, the visitors of the privates show a higher level of satisfaction than the publics due to the positive evaluation based on the accessibility, composition of theme spaces and link of the traffic line. Visitors show higher level of satisfaction toward the publics regarding the maintenance of the public facilities such as recreational area and amenities, and this indicates the need of improvement of welfare facilities in the privates. However, the privates have higher level of satisfaction in information facilities, plant labels, tree tags, stability and hygiene. Although the entrance fee of private botanic gardens and arboretums is expensive, visitors show higher level of satisfaction in admission fee and good service from receptionists. According to the research, users prefer high-end green leisure which includes creativity, hands-on experience and recreation rather than ordinary sightseeing with a cheap admission fee.
