원예치료 교육, 보급 및 실행을 위한 기초 자료 제공 측면에서 원예치료논문 60편을 대상으로 사용횟수가 많은 용어를 원예, 의학, 심리 및 사회복지 관련 용어로 구분하여 조사하였으며, 이들 용어에 대한 일반인(기타직업) 49명, 원예학과 학생 20명, 원예치료사 21명, 사회복지사 20명, 간호사 21명의 이해도를 5점 척도법으로 조사하였다. 원예치료관련 용어를 분야별로 구분 후 상위 20개의 사용횟수를 조사한 결과 원예 관련 용어는 2,812회, 심리학 관련용어는 1,446회, 의학 관련 용어는 1,217회, 사회복지학 관련용어는 740회가 사용되었다. 원예 관련 용어에 대해서는 원예치료사와 원예전공 학생들의 이해도가 높게 나타났다. 의학과 심리학 용어에 대해서는 간호사와 사회복지사의 이해도가 높았으며, 사회복지 관련 용어에 대해서는 사회복지사와 간호사의 이해도가 높게 나타났다. 이와 같이 원예치료 용어에 대한 이해도는 원예치료사 및 교육대상에 따라 확연한 차이를 보여 효율적인 원예치료 교육을 위해서는 교육 대상자별로 이해도가 낮은 용어에 대한 교육이 반드시 이루어져야 할 것으로 생각된다.

This study was conducted to provide the basic data on the education, offer and execution of social welfare. We have also investigated into the horticultural therapy associated terms of high frequency which was divided into horticulture, medicine, psychology and social welfare on sixty papers of horticultural therapy. We have also examined into the understanding degree to these terms intended for 49 persons in general, 20 students majoring in horticulture, 21 horticultural curer, 20 social welfare specialists and 21 hospital nurses. As a result of dividing horticultural therapy associated terms into their fields and investigating into the highly ranked 20 terms, it were used following that 2,812 horticulture, 1,446 psychology, 1,217 medicine, and 740 social welfare associated terms. Horticultural curer and university students majoring in horticulture understanded very well about the horticulture associated terms. The highly understanding degree to medicine and psychology associated terms on hospital nurse and social welfare specialist, and that to social welfare associated terms on social welfare specialist and hospital nurse were also found. Understanding degree to the horticultural therapy associated terms had a great difference among the interested party. For the effective education of horticultural therapy, it was certainly needed that education according to the interested party about the horticultural therapy associated terms with the lower understanding degree.
