An experiment was conducted to examine the effects of aromatic flowering plant fragrance on concentration and emotional stability of middle school students' studies. The students of three classes from Y and C Middle School located in Seoul and Ansan, were selected for the experiment for one month. Each class was classified to the control group, the oriental lily group and complex group, respectively. The students of complex group was treated with a different flowering plant each week.
After a month, the oriental lily group was rose in their scores of concentration on studies. Furthermore, most students contacted with aromatic flowering plants applied their school life was pleasant or that they got interest in flowers. Its results were an evidence of positive effects on students' emotion. A test of electroencephalogram(EEG) also indicated an increase of α-wave which was thought to be related with power of concentration and creative thinking.
