본 연구에서는 부산지역 초등영재들의 과학관에 대한 경험과 신설될 국립부산과학관에 대한 기대와 전시·체험주제에 대한 욕구를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초등수학·과학영재들이 전 국의 국립종합과학관과 부산지역 과학관을 방문한 횟수와 경험을 조사하였다. 그리고 국립부산 과학관에 대한 기대와 바라는 전시·체험주제를 분석하여 초등영재교육에 시사점을 주고자 하 였다. 연구 결과 국립종합과학관의 방문경험은 63.8%로 이들의 평균 방문율은 1.6회였으며, 과 학관에 대한 만족은 높으나 거리에 대한 제약이 크게 나타났다. 설문에 참여한 모든 초등영재 들이 부산지역 과학관을 2번 이상 방문 하였으며, 평균 방문 횟수도 6.2회였지만 이는 상대적 으로 가까운 거리가 주는 이점과 과학관에 대한 관심의 영향인 것으로 분석되었다. 한편 부산 지역 과학관의 낙후된 시설과 단조로운 전시물에 대한 불만도 높게 나타나 개선이 필요한 것 으로 보인다. 초등영재들은 국립부산과학관이 다른 과학관과 차별된 체험을 할 수 있기를 바라 며 과학관련 지식을 통해 창의력과 상상력을 키워줄 수 있는 곳이 되기를 원하였다. 시사점으 로 앞으로 신설될 국립부산과학관은 초등영재들의 과학과련 체험욕구를 충족시킬 수 있어야 하며, 지역화를 강조한 해양·수산 전시와 체험에만 치우치지 않아야 하고, 학교 밖 과학교육의 내용이 들어가 있는 과학관이 되어야 할 것이다.
The purpose of the study is to know experiences of the gifted elementary students in Busan area in science museum, expectation about National Busan science museum under construction, and desire for exhibition and experience theme. To this end the study investigated number of visit and experiences in national integrated science museums and science museums in Busan with elementary mathematics gifted students and elementary science gifted students. And the author examined and analyzed expectation about National Busan science museum, and desired exhibition and experience theme. As the study result, it was found that their visiting experience to national integrated science museum was 63.8%, their average visit rate was 1.6 times. This means that their satisfaction for science museum was high but distance to museum is one of limitations. Elementary science gifted students visited science museum more frequently than elementary mathematics gifted students to some average 1.5 times. Elementary science gifted students also more deeply thought that science museum is a place for understanding new knowledge as well as for developing creativity and imagination. And science museum in Busan has benefit of comparatively near distance than national integrated science museum. But there was high complaint about facilities falling behind and boring exhibitions, so this requires improvement. For expectation about national Busan science museum, elementary gifted students hoped that they can have differentiated experiences compared to other science museums and the science museum can be a place to cultivate creativity and imagination through various and new knowledge related to science. This implies that National Busan science museum should meet desire for experience related to science for elementary gifted students, and this should not lean towards marine, fishery exhibition and experience that emphasize localization. In addition, the museum has to play a role as active supporter for science education.
