본 연구는 복지시설에 적용되는 공간과 색채의 적용에 관한 연구로써, 디자인이 가미된 시설물은 사용자의 환경과 치유에 도움을 줄 수 있고 나아가 복지시설의 모든 시설물에 대한 기준을 마련할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 증가하는 복지시설의 환경변화에 대응하여 공간과 색채의 중요성을 인식하고 이러한 요소들이 클라이언트의 신체적, 정서적, 심리적 환경에 중요한 구성요소로서 이를 적극적으로 활용될 수 있도록 마련하는 것이 연구의 목적이다. 특히 공간은 x, y, z축을 근거로 한 물리적인 현실의 공간을 지칭하고, 장소는 경험에 의해 기억되는 일종의 가상공간과도 같은 것이다. 그러므로 공간과 장소는 객관성과 주관성 그리고 불확실한 장소와 확실한 장소로 구분된다. 이러한 구분에 의해 인식되는 장소와 공간의 개념을 복지시설에 적용할 경우 합목적성의 시설로 재창조될 수 있다. 이와 마찬가지로 색채심리에 의한 복지시설의 적용 역시 사용자로 하여금 보다 좋은 환경을 제공하게 된다. 색채심리 반응은 색채의 치료적 역할에 관한 연구로 발전하고 있고, 특히 색채가 시각과 청각의 과정, 호흡의 리듬, 순환, 내분비계통과 다른 신체적 기능에 영향을 미친다는 것이 입증되었다. 이와 같은 외국의 사례들은 타당한 의도에 의해 디자인된 공간과 색채가 적용될 경우, 인간의 심리를 적극적으로 수용한 치유의 가능성을 조성할 수 있는 복지시설임을 증명하고 있다.
This study relates to the application of the space and color which are applied to the welfare facilities. The facilities incorporating the design elements will be useful for the environment of users and healing, and furthermore, provide the basis for all welfare facilities. In addition, the purpose of this study was to cope with the changes in the environment of welfare facilities that are increasing in number and promote active utilization of elements which play important role in physical, emotional, and psychological environment of clients based on the understanding about the importance of space and color. Particularly, the space refers to the space of physical reality based on the x, y, and z axis, while the place is analogous to a kind of virtual space that is memorized by experience. Therefore, the space and place can be classified into the objectivity, subjectivity, uncertain place, and certain place. The concept of the space and place, perceived through such classification, can be re-created as multi-purpose facilities if such concept is applied to welfare facilities. In the same way, better environment can be provided by users if the color psychology is applied to welfare facilities. The color psychology has developed into a study related to the healing role of colors, and particularly it was proved that the color has an influence on visual and auditory processes, rhythm of breathing, cardiovascular, endocrine system and other physical functions. Such cases of foreign countries prove that the welfare facilities can create the possibility of healing by embracing the human psychology actively, if the space and color which are designed by reasonable intention are applied.
