본 연구는 ‘내암의 상사구렁이 퇴치 유형’의 텍스트 형성과정을 중심으로 고 찰하였다. ‘내암의 상사구렁이 퇴치 유형’은 내암 관련 구비전설의 대부분을 차 지하고 있는 유형이다. 본 연구에서는 ‘내암의 상사구렁이 퇴치 유형’으로 분류 한 텍스트가 남명전설이 아닌 내암의 인물전설로서 존재하는 양상과 그 의미를 밝히고, 내암전설의 유형적 성립 조건 및 방식을 규명함으로써, 기존의 연구사 에서 남명전설의 일부로 분류해 왔던 내암전설의 실체를 드러내고자 하였다. 본 연구는 다음과 같이 진행되었다. 첫째, 내암전설의 존재양상을 검토하고 그 하위유형을 분류하였다. 이를 통해 ‘내암의 상사구렁이 퇴치 유형’이 내암전 설의 하위유형의 하나로 존재하는 양상을 고찰하였다. 둘째, ‘내암의 상사구렁 이 퇴치 유형’의 서사 구조적 특징과 텍스트의 분화 및 성립 방식을 고찰하였다. ‘내암의 상사구렁이 퇴치 유형’이 남명의 인물전설이 아니라 내암의 인물전설 로 존재하는 양상을 서사 구조적인 측면에서 입증하였다. 한편 ‘내암의 상사구 렁이 퇴치 유형’이 남명 중심적인 서술시각으로부터 분립하여 내암 중심적인 서술시각을 성립시키는 분화의 단계를 미시적으로 고찰하였다.

This paper is the study on the formational course of the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake. The pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake is the type that occupies most of Naeam legend. This study attempted to examine the substance of the Naeam legend, inquiring into the aspects that the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake doesn’t exsist as Nammyung legend but as Naeam legend and the formational course of the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake. In the first, this study classified the Naeam legend into the lower types. Through this, it is come out that the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake exist as one of the lower pattern in Naeam legend. In the second, this study inquired into the characteristics of the narrative structure and the formational course of the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake. In this work, it is proved out in the side of the narrative structure that the pattern that Naeam wipes out a loving snake doesn’t exsist as Nammyung legend but as Naeam legend.
