이 연구의 목적은 성범죄자의 교정시설 수용 이후 가족관계 실태를 알아보고, 성범죄자 집단별 가족관계 정도와 가족지원 욕구를 파악함으로써 효과적인 가족지원방안을 모색하고자 하는 연구이다. 교정시설 수감 중인 성범죄자들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 성범죄 발생 이후 가족과의 관계 실태와 집단별 가족관계 정도를 분석하였다. 본 연구결과에 의하면 성범죄자들은 성범죄 발생 이후 가족과의 연락을 자주 못하며, 이혼과 같은 가족해체를 경험했다. 또한 성범죄자 가족들은 정신적 충격, 경제적 어려움 등의 피해를 호소하고 있었다. 따라서 성범죄자들의 가족관계 강화를 위해 교정시설 내에서 가족 간의 접촉 기회를 늘리고, 편안한 분위기에서 가족들이 면담할 수 있는 공간을 마련해 주어야 한다. 부모교육과 부부관계 개선을 위한 프로그램을 진행하고, 성범죄자들의 개별 상황에 맞춘 가족지원 프로그램이 강화되어야 한다. 지역사회 민간기관 및 전문가들과 연계하여 다양한 치료 프로그램이 실시될 수 있도록 교정현장의 개방화가 이루어져야 한다.

The purpose of the study is to investigate the changes in family relationships after sex offender's entry into the correctional facilities and is to find effective ways of family support. Family relationship and support are important factors of the adaptation of the offenders to the correctional facilities and social adaptation after release. The entrance of a offender into a correctional facility causes a break with the family. The family takes charge of the prisoner's support and the burden of family economical problems and child care. However, support for prisoners in correctional facility is insufficient. So the family conflicts occur and sometimes is disbanded. In particular, sex offenders experience difficulties in getting social support due to the social bias of ‘sex offender’. According to the results of this study, sex offenders do not communicate well with family members. and experience family dismissal such as divorce. Family members of sex offenders were suffering from psychological shocks and economic difficulties. Therefore, it is necessary to increase opportunities for contact with family members in correctional facilities in order to strengthen the family relations of sex offenders. It should provide a space where the family can meet in a comfortable environment and conduct parent education and marriage relationship improvement programs. And the family support program fitted to the individual circumstances of sex offenders. The correctional facility must be open and various treatment programs should be implemented. It should be connected with the local civic organizations and experts.
