이 연구는 스포츠상황에서 친구 또는 또래 간에 형성된 우정에 대한 인식을 측정하기 위해 개발된 Weiss와 Smith(1999)의 스포츠우정 척도가 국내 스포츠 상황에서 타당하게 활용될 수 있는지에 대해 검증하였다. 스포츠우정 척도는 자존감 향상과 지원, 의리와 친밀도, 공통점과 교우관계와 즐거운 놀이, 그리고 갈등해결 등 다섯 가지 긍정적 요소와 부정적 요소인 갈등을 포함하여 총 6요인 22문항으로 구성되어 있다. 국내의 아동청소년을 대상으로 척도의 동등성을 확보하기 위해 국제검사위원회에서 제시한 검사번안지침서 제안에 따라 번안과정을 수행한 결과, 최종 6요인 20문항이 타당한 것으로 확인되었다. 타당성 검증을 통해 확인된 스포츠우정 척도는 향후 신체활동 상황에서 친구 또는 또래 관계 간에 형성되는 우정의 촉진 및 방해 요소를 측정하여, 그 특성을 이해하고 스포츠가 우정형성에 기여하는 정도를 명확히 파악하는 데에 유용한 도구로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

This article outlines the development and initial validation of the Sport Friendship Quality Scale (SFQS), a multidimensional self-report measure designed to assess the friendship quality, which originated from the work of Weiss and Smith (1999). SFQS is consisted of six factors (22-items) with self-esteem enhancement and supportiveness, loyalty and intimacy, things in common, companionship and pleasant play, conflict resolution, and conflict. Data were collected from 517 youth athletes. In order to test the validity and reliability of Korean version of SFQS, we followed the Guidelines for Translating and Adapting tests (GTAT) given by the International Test Commissions (ITC) and performed exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to confirm the factorial validity, as well as internal consistency and correlations among six variables. As a result, K-SFQS had 6 factors with 20 items, and eliminated 2 items (conflict resolution/ conflict). Recommendation and suggestion for the use in research pertaining to the social-and-interpersonal skills with the quality of friendship in sport participation are discussed.
