본 연구의 목적은 레크리에이션 수준의 상호 경쟁적 스포츠활동(축구)의 경기결과가 기분변화에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 조사하는데 있다. 실험에 참가한 피험자들은 체육시간에 참가한 14-16세(평균나이: 15.7세)의 남자중학생 440명을 대상으로 하였다. 피험자들을 무작위로 나누어 팀을 구성하였다. 연구의 실험설계는 집단과 사전사후(2×2)에 대해 이원 반복분산분석을 실시했다. 종속변수는 긍정적 행복감, 심리적 부정스트레스, 피로이다. 연구결과 승리집단이 경기 전보다 경기 후 행복감을 더 많이 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 패배집단은 경기 전보다 오히려 행복감이 낮게 나타났고 부정적 스트레스에서는 승리집단의 경우 경기 후 변동이 없었지만 패배집단은 경기 후 높은 증가를 보였다. 또한 피로에서도 승리집단은 경기 후 변동이 없었지만 패배집단은 피로를 더 많이 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구의 결과는 운동이 삶의 질 향상에 중요한 역할을 하지만 경쟁과 같은 운동 환경에 따라 기분감소와 같은 부정적인 영향을 초래할 수 있음을 알려 준다.
The purpose of this study was to investigate how the match results of a competitive sports activity (Soccer) at the recreational level influence mood change. Subjects consisted of 440 middle school students (male) age ranged from 14 to 16, with a mean age of 15.7 years. Subjects were randomly divide into two teams, respectively. The data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA with repeated measures of time (before and after game) × group (win and loss). Dependent variables are positive well-being, psychological distress, and fatigue. The research findings revealed that winning groups felt more positive well-being post match than prematch, while losing groups showed less positive well-being. With regard to psychological distress, winning groups showed no change post match, while losing groups demonstrated a high increase post match. In terms of fatigue, winning groups showed no change post match, while losing groups felt more fatigue. Thus, this study shows that although sport plays an important role in improving the quality of life, the environment of sports such as competition may produce undesirable mood decrements.
