이 연구는 Bloom(1985)의 재능발달 이론에 기초하여 다양한 발달 수준에서 예외적인 무용수행에 영향을 미치는 잠재적 재능요인이 무엇인지를 조사하였다. 초, 중, 고, 대학생을 지도하는 무용지도자 52명이 개방형 설문에 참여하였으며, 반응 자료는 공통적인 의미의 내용을 범주화하고 주제를 생성하는 귀납적 내용분석 방법을 적용하였다. 분석 결과, 이해력, 창의력, 표현력, 무용열정 등 18개 재능요인이 도출되었으며 이들은 인지요인, 정서요인, 동기요인, 신체적요인, 움직임 유능성요인, 사회적 지원요인의 6개 차원을 반영하고 있었다. 또한 이러한 재능요인은 발달 단계에 따라 다소 다르게 나타났다. 즉 감정표현력과 같은 정서적 요인은 모든 발달과정에서 우수한 무용수행을 보이는데 중요한 재능요인으로 고려된 반면에 고등과 대학 수준에서는 인지 요인과 움직임 유능성 요인이 초등과 중학생 수준에서는 동기요인과 신체적 요인이 보다 중요한 재능발달 요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 무용의 재능발달에 관한 미래 연구의 가이드라인과 관련하여 논의하였다.

This study attempted to describe patterns in the dynamics of talent development in dance performance. The framework provided by Bloom(1985) to explain talent development served as the theoretical basis for the study. Open-ended questionnaires were provided to 52 teachers who were teaching dance classes in elementary, middle, high, and universities. The data were drawn from open-ended questionnaires were inductively content analyzed. Six major dimensions emerged from data.: dance comprehension, creativity, memory, emotion expression, rhythmic sense, dance passion, confidence, self-control, morphological characteristics, movement ability, social support. These major dimensions were categorized as 18 qualities. The findings demonstrated that numerous and diverse properties reflecting the cognitive, emotional, motor, motivation, and environmental aspects of talent in dance performance. Furthermore, theses qualities were quiet different from early to later stage of talent development. Dance teachers thought that passion towered dance was important for excellent dance performance at early stages, but comprehensiveness and creativity was crucial for excellent dance performance at later stages.
