대한민국의 범죄율은 해마다 증가하고 있는데 그중에서도 강력 범죄 발생율의 증가로 어린이, 여성, 노약자들의 불안감이 고조되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 정부에서는 환경개선을 통하여 주민을 안심시키고 범죄를 억제하기 위하여 범죄를 사전에 차단하는 범죄예방디자인기법을 활용하여 범죄를 대처하고 있지만 이를 제대로 활용하는 지방지자체가 미비하다고 할 수 있다.
이에 본 논문은 포천 신읍동을 중심으로 범죄예방디자인을 제안하여 주민이 안심하고 다닐 수 있는 길을 제안하고자 한다. 그 결과, 자연 친화중심의 디자인으로 주변 경관과 조화를 이루고 절제된 디자인 연출이 요구되며, 생활을 배려하는 디자인으로 이용자의 편의성을 반영하고 안전성 및 유지관리를 고려한 디자인과 장애 없는 디자인 적용이 필요하다 또한 주변경관 이미지를 반영하여 통합된 정체성을 확립하고 도심의 특이성을 고려하여 활용 할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서 제시한 개선 방향을 토대로 어린이와 여성, 노약자 등 사회약자를 보호할 수 있는 기반확충으로 범죄예방 디자인이 도움이 되었으면 하는 바램이다.

The crime rate of the Republic of Korea is increasing year by year, but the increasing incidence of violent crime is raising the anxiety of children, women and the elderly. In order to solve this problem, the government is dealing with crime by using crime prevention design technique which relieves the residents and restrains the crime by preventing the crime by improving the environment. Therefore, this paper proposes a crime prevention design centering on Shin - eup - dong, Pocheon, and suggests a way for residents to carry around safely. As a result, it is necessary to apply design that considers safety, maintenance, and design without obstacles, reflecting the convenience of users with design that cares about life, It is necessary to establish the integrated identity by reflecting the image of the surrounding landscape and to utilize it considering the specificity of the inner city.
It is hoped that crime prevention design will be helped by expanding the base to protect the weak people such as children, women and the elderly based on the improvement directions presented in this paper
