이 연구는 영아기 첫 자녀를 둔 어머니들이 문화센터에 참여한 경험과 그 의미를 탐색 하는데 목적이 있다. 이와 같은 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구에서는 영아기 첫 자녀를 둔 어머니 6명을 대상으로 2개월 동안 심층면담과 집단면담을 수행하였다. 수집된 자료는 면담자료 전사본과 연구 기간 동안 작성한 연구자 저널이다. 연구 결과, 어머니들은 문화센터 참여를 통해 ‘독박육아의 섬에서 탈출하기’, ‘교류 속에서 초보 엄마 한계 뛰어넘기’, ‘자녀 성장과 엄마 역할에 대한 불안함 떨쳐내기’, ‘교육세계로 입문하기’를 경험 하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 어머니들의 경험은 ‘자녀와 영아교육에 관한 이해의 지평 위에서 비판적 시각 갖기’를 가져왔고, ‘부모로서 아이 중심의 교육적 신념 구성 하기’의 기회가 되었으며 ‘고립과 소통의 변주 속에서 행복한 육아 찾아가기’의 의미를 지니고 있었다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 토대로 국가와 지역사회에서는 영아 부모 및 영아교 육에 대한 이해와 지원을 넓혀 나가야 할 것이다.

The purpose of this study is to explore participation experiences and meaning of mothers with first child infancy in ‘Community Center’. To achieve this research objective in this study, six mothers with infants in-deep interviews and group interviews were conducted for two months. The collected data are the transcripts of the interview data and the journal of the researchers written during the study period. As a result of the research, 'Breathing in child care life', 'Jump beyond the limits of a new mother', 'Awareness of child growth and mother role', and 'Getting into the educational world'. These mothers' experiences brought about 'Widening the understanding of child and Infant education', it was 'Opportunity to constitute educational beliefs as parents' and it had the meaning of 'Going to the way of happy parenting'. Based on these research results we should expand support for infant’s parents and infant education.
