본 연구는 고등학교 잠재은퇴 학생선수들의 체계적인 진로교육체제 확립을 위해 직업기초능력을 조사 분석하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 문헌연구를 실시한 후 이를 토대로 직업기초능력 인식도에 관한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구의 대상은 전국의 체육고등학교 및 일반계 고등학교의 학 생선수 및 교사로 하였다. 교사들은 학생들에게 필요한 기초능력의 수준으로 신체활용능력을 가장 높게, 다음으로 진취성 및 책임감, 도구활용능력과 리더십, 그리고 조직이해능력 등의 순으로 인식 하였다. 또한 학생들은 자신들의 직업기초능력에 대해서 신체활용능력이 가장 높은 것으로, 다음으로 팀워크능력, 진취성 및 책임감, 도구활용능력 등의 순으로 응답하였다. 학생선수들을 대상으로 요구되는 직업기초능력은 의사소통능력, 국제문화이해능력, 자기계발능력 문제해결능력, 수리 능력 순으로 나타났다. 학생선수들은 학교에서 학업 활동을 소홀히 하는 이유로 인하여 직업기초 능력의 인식 수준이 전반적으로 매우 부족한 것으로 드러났다. 따라서 이들의 직업기초능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 학교 내의 정규 및 비정규 교육과정 개발 및 사회적인 교육 시스템의 정립이 절실히 요청된다.
In light of the current social situation in which the youth unemployment problem is emerging as a significant issue, it is urgently required to establish a systematic career education system for high school student athletes. This study aimed to grasp the status of potential graduates through a literature review and to analyze the basic vocational skills of high school student athletes. The subjects of this study were high school student athletes from the pool of potential graduates. A Basic Skill Competency survey was conducted with student athletes and teachers from specialized schools and general high schools across the country. Teachers gave the highest level to physical abilities (4.35) as being the basic level of skills required by students, followed by progressiveness and responsibility (4.24), and tool utilization (4.20). The teachers’ perception level was the highest with respect to physical ability (3.67), followed by instrumental ability (3.38), leadership (3.38), and organizational understanding ability (3.36). The students responded in the following order: physical abilities (3.70), teamwork ability (3.61), entrepreneurship and responsibility (3.56), and ability to use tools (3.55). The basic skills of the students who were lacking, because of athletic involvement, were in the order of communication (1.18), international cultural understanding (1.17, self-development (-0.99), problem solving (-0.95), and repairing (-0.90). Since student athletes live mainly in sports rather than in academics, they have to neglect basic schooling at school. For these reasons, it has been found that the students have very poor basic skills. Therefore, it is important to improve their basic vocational skills through curriculum in the school or through private education. In particular, communication ability, international cultural understanding ability, self-development ability, and problem solving ability were shown to be the first areas to develop.
