본 연구는 한문교과교육에서 다루는 한자교육연구의 특수성을 한자학 연구와의 변별성 비교를 통해 밝히고자 하였다. 현재 한국 사회에서 한자교육연구의 필요성을 인정받기 위한 첫 단계는 미래의 인재가 한문교과의 학습을 통해 취득될 수 있는 지식과 정보가 미래사회에 왜 필요하며 어떻게 작용할 수 있는지에 대한 논리적 설득을 통한 사회적 합의이다. 한문교과교육의 필요성에 대한 사회적 합의의 바탕 위에서 한자교육의 필요성을 논하고, 한자교육연구에 관련된 여러 논의를 정치하게 할 수 있다.
본고에서 밝혔듯 한문교과에서의 한자교육은 중국어교육이나 일본어교육에서 말하는 한자교육 이나, 인문학 연구로서의 한자학 연구의 성과를 수용하는 것과는 다른 연구 영역이다. 한문교과에서 의 한자교육연구는 우리 사회에서 합의된 한문교과의 목적을 달성하기 위해 구성된 내용 요소의 선정과 위계화를 충실히 이행할 수 있도록 한자와 관련된 제 요소를 재규정하고, 이를 효율적으로 교수-학습, 평가하는 도구를 개발하여 적용할 수 있는 내용 체계와 요소를 개발·적용함을 목적으로 한다.

Whether it is Literary Sinitic education in School, Literary Sinitic study or Han-character education, Han-characters is an essential element of all these educational contents. Han-characte education is a necessary contents in all aspects of education and utilization of Sino-words and Literary Sinitic. On the contrary, if there is no need for the use of Han characters or the value of words and Literary Sinitic, education related to Han-characters will also lose its useful value when it is no longer necessary. In this way, Literary Sinitic education in School, is not a subject that exists or should be done because of the education or utilization of Han-characters, but the necessity and goal of Literary Sinitic education in School, are fully recognized, and Han-characters are learned to achieve this need and goal.
The purpose of this study was to reveal the specificity of Han-character education research covered by Han-character education through discrimination from Han-character studies. Through this research, we once again confirmed that Han-character studies are humanities and Han-character education is curriculum education. The research goals of humanities and curriculum education are not the same. Only using same characters as one of the subjects of the same study, these two areas have different orientations. Han-character education in the Literary Sinitic education in formal School, is a means factor to achieve the goal of the Literary Sinitic education in School, and the Han-character education itself cannot be the purpose. Therefore, the education related to Han-characters should be defined and prescriptive, while at the same time being variable according to the goals of the Literary Sinitic Education in its own case and its own type.
