오늘날 한국 정치의 키워드라고 하면 단연 ‘음모론’이란 언어이다. 어느 사건이나, 정치적인 이슈가 발현하게 되면 어김없이 언론, 뉴스, 개인 방송, SNS를 통해 ‘음모론’이란 단어가 등장한다. ‘천안함 음모론’, ‘총선 음모론’, ‘코로나 음모론’은 물론이거니와, ‘美 대선 음모론’, ‘9.11 음모론’ 등 자극적인 제목으로 대중들의 관심을 끈다. 그런데 우리 사회는 ‘음모론’이라는 딱지를 붙이는 순간, ‘음모론’에 대한 합리적 의심도 하지 않은 체, 비합리적이고, 편집증적인 환자 취급을 하게 된다. 하지만 ‘음모론’이 어떻게 발생하고, 정치적으로 어떠한 기능을 하고 있는지, ‘음모론’의 의미를 재해석하는 학문적인 연구도 필요하다. 본 연구는 음모와 관련되었던 역사적 사건들이나, 일상생활에 듣고 보는 정치적 비밀, 음모로 포장된 진실들을 음모론으로 포괄하여 살펴보았다. 음모론은 개인의 편협한 사고로 사회를 왜곡해서 보는 관점이지만, 음모론이 사회를 바라보는 비판적 의식을 가져온다는 긍정적인 특징을 7가지로 분석하였다. 반면 음모론은 검증은 가능하지만, 과학과 실험에 의해 반증 가능성이 없기 때문에 음모론의 한계가 있다고 칼 포퍼의 논의를 빌려 음모 론의 한계를 설명하였다. 그럼에도 불구하고, 불확실성의 시대를 해석할 수 있는 하나의 대안적 지식으로서의 음모론을 좀 더 체계적이고, 비판적인 이론으로서의 학문적 검토가 필요하다고 판단된다.

Today, the keyword of Korean politics is definitely the language of conspiracy. In any case, when political issues emerge, the word "conspiracy theory" appears through the media, news, personal broadcasting, and SNS. In addition to "The Conspiracy Theory of the Cheonan Warship," "The Conspiracy Theory of the General Election," and "The Conspiracy Theory of the COVID-19," they also attract public attention with provocative titles such as "The 9/11 Conspiracy Theory." But the moment we put the label "Conspiracy Theory," our society treats patients with irrational, irrational, and paranoid doubts about it. However, there is also a need for academic research to reinterpret how "conspiracy theory" occurs, how it functions politically, and what it means. Conspiracy theory is a view of society distorted by individual narrow-minded thinking, but it analyzed seven positive characteristics that conspiracy theory brings a critical sense of society. On the other hand, conspiracy theories are verifiable, but because there is no rebuttable possibility by science and experiment, there is a limit to conspiracy theories, explained the limitations of conspiracy theories with Karl Popper's discussion. Nevertheless, it is judged that an academic review of conspiracy theory as one alternative knowledge that can interpret an era of unpredictable uncertainty is needed as a more systematic, critical theory.
