A Comparative Study on Personality Characteristics of Learners in Upper and Lower Korean Pronunciation Skill Groups - Focusing on the use of the Multiphasic Persona Inventory -
This study attempted to investigate the effect of learner personalities on Korean pronunciation skills through the 'multiphasic persona inventory'. For this, first, the relationship between learner personalities and second language acquisition was examined, and theoretical contents on the multiphasic persona inventory, which is a type of personality test, were summarized. Next, learners were divided into upper, middle, and lower groups according to their Korean pronunciation skills, and then a multiphasic persona inventory was conducted to examine the relationship between learner personalities and pronunciation skills. The vulnerable child persona and the pleaser persona were high for upper group learners, and the power persona was high for lower group learners. Through these results, it was confirmed that learner personalities were related to pronunciation skills.
