본 논문은 언어민족주의의 개념과 유럽과 한국을 중심으로 다양한 국 가의 언어정책을 어떻게 형성했는지 분석한 글이다. 본고는 프랑스, 이탈 리아가 21세기에 민족주의적 언어정책을 도입하는 데 대한 의미를 분석 하였다. 본고는 이러한 정책의 이면에 있는 사회정치적 동기와 국가 정 체성 및 문화 보존에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 본 논문은 문헌 고찰과 사례 연구를 통해 언어민족주의의 개념을 바탕으로 프랑스와 이탈리아의 언어 보호법 및 한국의 언어 정책과 K-Culture 확산 전략을 비교 분석 하였다. 분석에 따르면 유럽 국가들은 자국어 침해를 방지하기 위해 보 호조치를 취하는 반면, 한국의 접근방식은 문화 수출을 활용하여 한국어 의 글로벌 확산을 도모하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 논문에서는 국가정체성 과 글로벌 커뮤니케이션 요구 사이의 균형을 맞추는 적응형 언어정책의 필요성을 강조한다. 언어민족주의가 문화적 정체성을 보존하려는 국가들 에게 여전히 중요한 도구이나, 방법과 결과는 지역마다 상이하다. 한국의 사례는 국제적으로 언어 사용을 장려하는 데 있어 문화적 영향력의 잠재 력을 제시하고 있다.

This paper examines the concept of linguistic nationalism and how it has shaped language policies in various countries, with a specific focus on Europe and South Korea. Highlighting the recent case of Turkey's renaming to "Türkiye," the study explores the implications of such nationalistic language policies in the 21st century. It investigates the socio-political motivations behind these policies and their impact on national identity and cultural preservation. The analysis reveals that while European countries employ protective measures to guard against the erosion of their national languages, South Korea's approach involves leveraging cultural exports to increase the global adoption of Korean. This study underscores the need for adaptive language policies that balance national identity with global communication needs. This paper concludes that linguistic nationalism remains a vital tool for countries seeking to preserve their cultural identity. However, the methods and outcomes vary significantly across different regions. The case of South Korea demonstrates the potential of cultural influence in promoting language use internationally, providing a valuable model for other nations.
