이 연구는 발단이 되는 사건, 도발적 사건, 위기 단계에서의 사건 등 영화의 이야기에서 주인공에게 일어나는 중요한 사건이 주인공의 목표에 어떤 영향을 주는지 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 또한, 각 장에서 각각의 사건에 대한 정 의와 이야기에서의 역할을 기술하고, 각 사건과 주인공이 추구하는 목표와의 관계를 살펴본다. 그리고 이를 기존 영화들의 사례에도 대입해서 검토한다. 연 구 결과 발단이 되는 사건은 프롤로그 이후에 주인공에게 일어나는 첫 번째 사건으로, 주인공은 이 사건을 통해 환경이나 역할의 변화를 겪거나 새로운 인 물이나 정보와 접촉하게 된다. 그러나 이 변화는 주인공의 삶을 근본적으로 바 꾸지 않으므로, 주인공은 이에 대응하는 등의 목표를 수립하지 않는다. 주인공 은 발단이 되는 사건 이후에 일어나는 영화의 중요한 두 번째 사건이자, 이야 기에서 가장 중심이 되는 사건인 도발적 사건을 통해, 삶의 균형이 파괴되거 나, 삶이 완전히 다른 방향으로 바뀌게 된다. 그리고 이 사건의 여파는 주인공 이 사건에 대응하기 위해 목표를 정립하도록 만든다. 또한, 주인공은 위기 단 계에서의 사건을 통해 강력한 압박을 받고, 딜레마에 해당하는 선택이나 목표 의 포기를 요구받는다. 주인공은 이 단계에서의 사건을 해결해 나가면서 원래 가지고 있던 목표를 계속 추구할 수도 있지만, 새롭게 발견되는 정보나 깨달음 을 통해 목표를 재정립하거나 수정할 수 있으며, 세부적으로 구체화하기도 한다.

This study aimed to analyze the effect of important incidents on the protagonist’s goal in each film storytelling stage, such as the incident leading to the beginning, the inciting incident, and the incident in the crisis stage. The research results show that through the beginning incident as the first event occurring to the protagonist after the prologue, the protagonist experiences change in circumstance or role, or comes into contact with new characters or information. However, such a change basically does not alter the protagonist’s life, so he or she does not really establish goals to cope with such a change. The inciting incident is the second event, following the beginning incident, and the most central event in storytelling, and through this incident, the protagonist’s life is destroyed in balance, or completely changes in direction. Besides, as aftermath of this incident, the protagonist is made to establish new goals to cope with changes. Through the crisis incident, the protagonist gets pressured so hard that he or she is required to chose goals in a dilemma or give them up. Then, while clearing up the incident in this stage, the protagonist may keep pursuing his or her original goals. Otherwise, the protagonist may make his or her goals reestablished and modified, or even materialized in detail, through newly-found information or realization.
