본 연구는 국악곡 밑도드리, 웃도드리, 평조회상 타령의 인공 지능 기반 위상수학적 분석 결과에서 사이클 및 사이클 중첩의 음악적 의미를 해석하였다. 세 악곡의 위상학적 분석에서 가장 흥미로웠던 점은 밑도드리, 웃도드리, 타령에서 사이클 중첩률 이 각각 36%, 32%, 타령 0%로 나타났다는 점이다. 본 연구 결 과, 이는 악곡의 선율적 반복 구조와의 관련성보다 음들의 조 합 방식 즉, 선율적 다양성과 직접적으로 연관되는 것으로 해 석되었다. 또한 동일 계열 악곡인 밑도드리와 웃도드리가 위상 공간의 사이클 양상에서 뚜렷이 변별되었는데, 이를 선율적인 작은 변화도 위상공간에서는 큰 차이를 일으킬 수 있는 것으로 해석했다. AI를 활용한 음악 연구에 있어, 음악학자들은 AI에 의한 음 악 결과물들의 의미를 추론하고, 그러한 일련의 시도들이 그 자체의 학문적 호기심을 넘어 인간 사회와 예술 문화를 더 깊 이 있게 사유하고 해석하는 데 바람직한 방향으로 작용할 수 있도록 관심을 기울여야 할 것이다. 앞으로 AI를 활용한 국악 연구 및 창작이 더욱 의미를 지니기 위해서는 다양한 국악 음 원들을 정교하게 분석하고, 국악적 특수성을 적합하게 데이터 화할 수 있는 방법론들이 심화 연구되어야 할 것이다.

This study interpreted the musical meaning of cycle and cycle overlap in the results of AI-based topological analysis of Mitdodeuri, Utdodeuri, and Pyeongjohoesang Taryeong as traditional Korean music. The most interesting thing about this topological analysis is that the overlapping rates of the cycles in the Mitdodeuri, Utdodeuri, and Pyeongjohoesang Taryeong were 36%, 32%, and 0%, respectively. As a result of this study, it was interpreted to be directly related to the combination of notes, that is, melodic diversity, rather than the relationship with the melodic repetition structure of the music. In addition, Mitdodeuri and Utdodeuri, which are the music from the same root, were clearly differentiated in the cyclic aspect of the topological space, which was interpreted to mean that even small melodic changes can cause large differences in the topological space. In music research using AI, musicologists will need to infer the meaning of AI-induced music outcomes, and to pay attention to such attempts to act in a desirable direction for deeper thinking and interpreting of human society and culture beyond its own academic curiosity. In order for the research and creation of Korean traditional music using AI to be more meaningful in the future, various Korean traditional music sound sources must be analyzed in detail and methodologies which can convert the specificity of Korean traditional music into appropriate data must be studied in depth.
