        게임플레이는 플레이어가 게임과 상호작용을 진행하면서 게임 상황에 대한 판단과 행동의 일련의 과정의 반복이라고 볼 수 있다. 잘 설계된 게임플레이는 플레이어로 하여금 게임에 몰입하도록 유도하며, 지속적으 로 몰입상태를 유지할 수 있도록 한다. RPG에서 게임플레이의 핵심과정중 하나는 몬스터와 상호작용하는 것이다. 일반적인 RPG의 몬스터는 패턴플레이로 구성되어 반복적으로 플레이가 진행되는 상황에서 지루함 을 유발하는 요인으로 작용한다. 이로 인해 게임을 플레이하는 플레이어중 고 레벨 플레이어는 레벨업을 위 해 습득해야 하는 경험치의 양의 증가로 인해 같은 필드에서 같은 몬스터를 오랜 시간동안 플레이하는 것 이 일반적이어서 시간이 지날수록 투자한 시간과 성취욕구 사이에서 만족도가 떨어지는 문제점이 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 플레이어의 성장과정에서 몬스터가 제공하는 정보에 대한 위계의 설정을 통하여 플레이어의 인지과정에 패턴의 변수를 인식하게 하여 다양한 게임플레이가 가능하도록 하며 이를 바탕으로 플로우 (Flow) 과정에서 경험하는 지루함의 요소를 극복하고 지속적으로 몰입과정을 느낄 수 있도록 한다.

        Ulva compressa Linnaeus (UCL) is a green algae seaweed that performs photosynthesis and is used as a food material in some Asian regions including Korea. It is known to be the dominant species in copper ion-contaminated seas, and many studies on copper ion resistant mechanisms have been reported. UCL is known to have an excellent antioxidant effect, but limited information is available regarding its other physiological activities. In this study, we investigated the anticancer activity of 30% prethanol extracts of Ulva compressa Linnaeus (30% PeUCL) and the underlying mechanisms of its activity on human FaDu hypopharyngeal squamous carcinoma cells. The 30% PeUCL extracts suppressed FaDu cell viability without affecting normal cells (L929), as determined by MTT and viability assays. Furthermore, the 30% PeUCL extracts induced apoptosis, as determined by DAPI staining. The 30% PeUCL extracts inhibited colony formation effectively as well as wound-healing of FaDu cells, even at noncytotoxic concentrations. In addition, 30% PeUCL extracts induced apoptosis significantly through proteolytic cleavage of caspase-3, -7, and -9, and poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase, and by downregulation of Bcl-2 and upregulation of Bax in FaDu cells, as determined by Western blot analysis. Collectively, these results suggest that the inhibitory effect of 30% PeUCL extracts on the growth of oral cancer cells, colony formation and wound-healing may be mediated by caspase- and mitochondrial-dependent apoptotic pathways in human FaDu hypopharyngeal squamous carcinoma cells. Therefore, 30% PeUCL extracts can be administered as a natural chemotherapeutic drug for the treatment of human oral cancers.

        최근 소프트웨어(SW) 교육의 중요성이 부각되면서 SW 교육을 위한 다양한 정책과 플랫폼이 발표되고 있다. 특히 SW 교육을 효율적으로 진행하기 위해서는 단순히 교재와 수업만으로는 한계가 있으므로, 방과후 학 교, 협동 혹은 실습수업, 캠프운영 등 다양한 시도가 이루어지고 있다. 이 중에서 학습캠프는 집중도 높은 수업, 타 학습자와의 원활한 교류, 지도 교사의 빠른 피드백 등으로 많은 주목을 받고 있는 수업 플랫폼이 다. 이 같은 추세에 발 맞추어 로봇체험캠프, 앱개발 캠프 등 다양한 캠프들도 등장하고 있다. 특히, 게임제 작 캠프는 SW교육을 처음 접하는 학생들의 흥미와 학습 동기부여를 높여주어 많은 주목을 받고 있는데, 본 연구에서는 게임전공 연구자들 중심으로 기획 된 게이미피케이션 기반 온라인, 오프라인 코딩 캠프 운영을 통해 온라인과 오프라인 캠프의 재미와 만족도를 비교하고, 각 장단점을 확인하여 게이미피케이션 기반 SW교육 캠프 콘텐츠 제작 및 프로그램 운영 시 고려 할 점들을 고찰 하고자 하였다. 또한, 사용자 인터뷰 를 통해 실제 학습자와 교사의 의견을 수렴하여 각각의 플랫폼이 가지고 있는 단점을 상호 보완하고, 장점 을 부각시키는 방안을 검토 하였다.

        게임을 구현하는 동안 주기성을 보장해야될 필요성이 있는 경우가 많이 있다. 예를 들어 많은 경우에 캐릭 터의 충돌은 주기적으로 처리되어야 될 필요성이 있는데 주기적으로 처리하지 못하는 경우 게임에서 충돌 을 감지하지 못하는 경우가 발생할 수 있다. 또한 슈팅 게임에서는 많은 경우에 사용자의 편의를 위하여 특 정 버튼을 누르면 무기를 자동적으로 발사하는 기능을 포함하고 있어 주기적으로 무기를 발사해야될 필요 성이 있다. 한편 유니티를 사용하여 게임을 구현할 때 이러한 주기성을 보장하기 위해서 WaitForSeconds로 지연을 발생시킨 코루틴, InvokeRepeating, FixedUpdate, .NET의 Timers.Timer가 사용될 수 있다. 그러나 이러한 다양한 방법들로 인하여 방법의 선택에 어려움이 있어 연구를 진행하였다. 본 연구에서는 1분 동안 6000번 메서드를 주기적으로 실행하고 주기성과 횟수를 측정하였다. 또한 다양한 환경에서의 실험을 위하여 추가의 모델 렌더링이 없는 경우와 렌더링을 추가한 경우, 다양한 해상도에서 주기성과 메서드 호출 횟수를 모두 측정했다. 실험 결과, 부하가 적은 환경에서는 InvokeRepeating이 가장 6000회에 가까웠으며 부하가 큰 환경 에서는 Timers.Timer가 가장 6000회에 가까웠으며 실행 주기의 편차가 가장 적었다. 이러한 실험들을 통하여 유니티를 통하여 게임을 구현할 때 일정 시간 내에 실행되는 횟수가 중요한 게임에서 성능 부하가 크지 않 은 경우 InvokeRepeating을, 성능 부하가 크다면 .NET의 Timer를 쓰는 것이 적합함을 알아내었다. 본 연구를 통하여 개발자는 유니티에서 제공되는 주기성 제공 방법들 중에서 적절한 방법을 선택할 수 있다.

        이 연구의 목적은 커피점문점의 공간적 경쟁구도 및 입지우위를 미시적인 공간 해상도에서 탐색하 는 것이다. 분석지역은 인천광역시이며, 분석연도는 2018년이다. 분석방법으로는 공간 빅데이터 기반 의 i2SFCA(Inverted Two-Step Floating Catchment Area)와 Contour Tree 기법을 활용하였다. 분 석결과, 개별 커피전문점의 입지 효율성은 큰 편차를 드러냈으며, 연수3동, 선학동, 도원동 등의 순으 로 우수하였다. 또한, 공시지가가 높은 곳에 입지한 커피전문점 간의 출혈경쟁을 확인할 수 있었다. 마지막으로 역세권이 아닌 지역에서도 커피전문점의 입지 효율성이 높은 지역, 이른바 틈새 지역 (niche region)을 확인할 수 있었다. 커피전문점의 소비행태에 관한 빅데이터의 활용 제약은 본 연구 의 한계와 직결되므로, 소비행태 빅데이터 기반으로 커피전문점의 입지 문제 정교하게 다루는 후속연 구가 필요하다.

        독립형 VR기기가 활발히 개발되기 전 스마트폰을 HMD로 만들려는 움직임이 있었고 구글의 카드보드와 삼 성의 기어 VR이 그 예이다. 하지만 독립형 VR기기의 출시와 모바일 기기의 한계로 현재는 대부분 AR로 전 환되어 사용되었다. 그렇지만 지난 10년간 모바일 VR과 AR의 기술도 발달했지만, 그동안 모바일 기기의 성 능도 향상되었다. 따라서 발달한 기술들을 바탕으로 손 추적을 뛰어넘어 손동작 분류를 모바일 기기에서 기 존의 VR과 AR 콘텐츠와의 상호작용에 활용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 Manomotion을 이용하여 2D 또는 3D 의 골격을 추적하고 손동작 분류를 구현했으며 게임을 사용하여 검증하였다.

        The Yellow Sea experienced glacio-eustasy sea-level fluctuations during the Quaternary period. In the middle part of the Yellow Sea, the Quaternary successions were accumulated by alternating terrestrial, paralic, and shallow marine deposits that reflected the fluctuating sea levels. A long core of 69.2 m was acquired at the YMGR-102 site (33o50.1782'N and 123o48.3019'E) at a depth of 72.5 m in the middle of the Yellow Sea. A four-layered geoacoustic model was reconstructed for the sedimentary succession. It was based on seismic characteristics from 3.5 kHz SBP and air-gun seismic profiles and 96 grain-size properties in the core sample from YMGR-102. For the underwater simulation and experiments, the in-situ P-wave speeds were calculated using the sound speed ratio of the Hamilton method. The geoacoustic model of YMGR-102 can contribute to the reconstruction of geoacoustic models, reflecting the vertical and lateral variability of the acoustic properties in the continental shelf of the middle Yellow Sea.

        Various types of karst topographies are found worldwide. Owing to their global distribution, karst areas have been extensively studied by scientists who investigate new discoveries by linking the characteristics of karst topographies with their own research fields. However, there have been only a few studies on karsts in the Republic of Korea, and little research exists on their hydrogeology. Fragmentary studies have been conducted on the hydrochemical characteristics of groundwater in limestone areas, the causes of high arsenic concentrations in groundwater, and the hydraulic conductivity of limestone areas. Research on hydrogeological characterization and flow mechanisms in these areas has only began recently. Identification and the proper management of available groundwater resources in karst (limestone) areas is essential as their unique geological characteristics render it difficult to construct reservoirs or dams at appropriate scales. We have reviewed prior work on karsts in the Republic of Korea to provide information that supports water resource security in the karst areas, to improve the understanding of the equitable use of water resources, and to identify the best management practices for groundwater resource resilience improvement.

        Background: Older adults use different ankle muscle activation patterns during difficult static balance conditions. It has been suggested that this is related to a decline in proprioception with age, resulting in reduced postural balance. However, the association between proprioception and ankle muscle activity during quiet standing has not been directly assessed. Objects: This study aimed to investigate the effects of age and sensory condition on ankle muscle activity and the association between ankle proprioception and ankle muscle activity. Methods: We recruited 10 young women and 9 older women. Ankle proprioception was evaluated using joint position sense (JPS) and force sense (FS) divided by dorsiflexion and plantarflexion. The electromyographic activity of the tibialis anterior (TA) and gastrocnemius (GCM) muscles was collected during quiet standing. Results: Older women activated GCM muscle more than young during quiet standing and when performing difficult tasks. Older women had more errors in JPS dorsiflexion and FS plantarflexion than did young. The GCM muscle activity is related to JPS dorsiflexion and FS plantarflexion. Conclusion: Lower proprioception of the GCM with age leads to increased muscle activity, resulting in reduced postural balance. There was no difference in TA proprioception or muscle activity among older women with frequent physical activity.

        This study presents the characteristics of publications in the Journal of Korean Astronomy Society (JKAS) from 1968 to 2021. JKAS has published 763 research articles over the past 54 years. In addition, 376 proceedings were also published with research articles. There were slight increases and decreases in the number of articles published in JKAS in the 1990s and 2000s, and in 2015 there was the highest recorded number of articles published for a given year. Since then, the number of articles has tended to decrease each year, up to and including the most recent period (2020–2021), which includes the Coronavirus pandemic. However, since theory centered research is primarily conducted without being swayed by society and policies, and that the proportion of authors belonging to educational institutions, such as universities, is high, the future direction of JKAS is encouraging. There are also positive developments including sustained researchers affiliated with international institutions at greater than approximately 23%, as well as improvements in the impact factor. Therefore, it is important to not be deterred by the decreasing trends of the quantitative aspect, but to respond positively by determining a future roadmap.

        Background: Women patients who have undergone high tibial osteotomy need management to control walking and balance and to enable functional daily life. In that way, land-based physical therapy and aquatic physical therapy were performed. Objectives: To investigated the effect of land-based and aquatic physical therapy on the balance and walking of women who had undergone high tibial osteotomy. Design: Randomized control trial. Methods: In all, this randomized controlled trial enrolled 21 patients with high tibial osteotomy who received land-based physical therapy (LP, n=7), aquatic physical therapy (AP, n=7), and land-based and aquatic physical therapy (LAP, n=7). Single-leg standing balance, 10-m walk test, and Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome (KOOS-12) scores were. The intervention period was 3 days per week for 6 weeks. Results: One-leg standing balance and 10-m walk test increased statistically, and KOOS-12 score also increased statistically. All three groups have improved. As a result, the variable changes were compared in three groups, and although there was no significant difference between the land-based and aquatic physical therapy groups, the land-based and aquatic physical therapy combined programs improved further than the previous two groups. Conclusion: The balance and walking of female patients with high tibial osteotomy were found to have been very effective in land physical therapy and aquatic physical therapy. In addition, the land-based and aquatic physical therapy combination program can improve balance and walking more effectively.

        This study assessed the changes in the fiber properties of virgin and recovered fibers from lab-scale and pilot-scale depolymerization reactors based on the thermal air oxidation-resistance characteristics. Lab-scale and pilot-scale depolymerization reactors had different depolymerization volumes. Results showed that the lab-scale and pilot-scale peak solvent temperatures were 185 °C and 151 °C, respectively. The lab-scale had highest solvent temperature rate increase because of the small depolymerization volume and the dominant role of the cavitation volume. The structural properties of the recovered and virgin fibers were intact even after the depolymerization and after the pretreatment and oxidation-resistance test. We observed 1.213%, 1.027% and 0.842% weight loss for the recovered (lab-scale), the recovered (pilot-scale) and virgin fibers because of the removal of impurities from the surface and chemisorbed gases. Further, we observed 0.8% mass loss of the recovered fibers (lab-scale) after the oxidative-onset temperature because of the “cavitation erosion effect” from the dominant of the cavitation bubbles. The “cavitation erosion effect” was subdued because of the increased depolymerization volume in the pilot-scale reactor. Therefore, negligible impact of the pilot-scale mechanochemical recycling process on the structure and surface characteristics of the fibers and the possibility of reusing the recovered fibers recycling process were characteristic. Representative functional groups were affected by the thermal oxidation process. We conducted HPLC, HT-XRD, TGA– DSC, XPS, SEM, and AFM analysis and provided an extensive discussion of the test thereof. This study highlighted how misleading and insufficient small-lab-scale results could be in developing viable CFRP depolymerization process.

        The goal of this study was to develop a curriculum based on practice and job competency, reflecting opinions on the required job competence of nail practitioners and professionals related to nail beauty. Through in-depth interviews with nail experts, the research focuses on developing nail beauty competency-based curriculum and curriculum profiles that reflect practitioners’ needs of job competence in the field. In-depth interviews with 11 field experts and surveys of 154 people were conducted to develop a competency-based curriculum for beginner nail hairdressers. The results of this study show that the existing 38 National Competency Standards (NCS) job competencies were reduced to 21 job competencies. In addition, based on the common opinions of experts who reflect the current trend, two tasks on “eyelashes” and “waxing” were added, and they were modified and supplemented with 23 core competencies. The development of a competency-based curriculum and educational programs for nail beauty was performed based on the requirements of the core competencies investigated and the development of a systematic map for the core competencies of beginner nail technicians and hairdressers. In conclusion, the need for professional education and training for nail hairdressers is growing, and it can be seen that a curriculum building multi-faceted abilities is needed for their qualifications as experts. This study found that it is necessary to develop interpersonal communication skills that include marketing elements other than practical skills such as personality and customer response methods in the nail beauty curriculum.

        Three government bodies, that is, the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT), Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE), and Nuclear Safety and Security (NSSC), jointly established the Institute for Korea Spent Nuclear Fuel (iKSNF) in December 2020 to secure the management technologies for spent nuclear fuel (SNF). The objective of iKSNF is to successfully conduct the long-term research and development program of the 「Development of Core Technologies to Ensure Safety of Spent Nuclear Fuel Storage and Disposal System」. Our program, known as the first multi-ministry program in the nuclear field of Korea, mainly focuses on developing core technologies required for the long-term management of SNF, including those for safe storage and deep geological disposal of SNF. The program comprises three subprograms and seven key projects covering the storage, disposal, and regulatory sectors of SNF management. Our program will last from 2021 through 2029, with a budget of approximately four billion USD sponsored by MSIT, MOTIE, and NSSC.

        Spent filters with a high radiation dose rate of 2 mSv·hr−1 or more are not easily managed. So far, the Korean policy for spent filter disposal is to store them temporarily at nuclear power plants until the waste filters can be easily managed. Nuclear power plant decommissioning in Korea is starting with Kori unit 1. Volume reduction of waste generated during decommissioning can reduce the cost and optimize the space usage at disposal site. Therefore, efficient volume reduction is a very important factor during the decommissioning process. A conceptual method, based on the experiences of developing 200 and 800 ton compactors at Orion EnC, has been developed considering worker exposure with the followings a crusher (upgrade of compaction efficiency), an automatic dose measuring system with a NaI(Tl) detector, a shield box, an inner drum to prepare for easy handling of drums and packaging, a 30 ton compactor, and an automatic robot system. This system achieves a volume reduction ratio of up to 85.7%; hence, the system can reduce the disposal cost and waste volume. It can be applied to other types of wastes that are not easily managed due to high dose rates and remote control operation necessity.

        Two tree frogs, Dryophytes suweonensis and Dryophytes japonicus, inhabiting Korea, are morphologically similar and share the same habitats. Therefore, they are identified mainly through their calls, especially for males. Dryophytes suweonensis is registered as an endangered (IUCN: EN grade) and protected species in South Korea. Thus, it is necessary to develop a method to rapidly identify and discriminate the two species and establish efficient protection and restoration plans. We identified significant genetic variation between them by sequencing a maternallyinherited mitochondrial 12S ribosomal DNA region. Based on the sequence data, we designed a pair of primers containing 7 bp differences for high resolution melting (HRM) analysis to rapidly and accurately characterize their genotypes. The HRM analysis using genomic DNA showed that the melting peak for D. suweonensis was 76.4±0.06°C, whereas that of D. japonicus was 75.0±0.05°C. The differential melt curve plot further showed a distinct difference between them. We also carried out a pilot test for the application of HRM analysis based on immersing D. suweonensis in distilled water for 30 min to generate artificial environmental DNA (eDNA). The results showed 1.10-1.31°C differences in the melting peaks between the two tree frog samples. Therefore, this HRM analysis is rapid and accurate in identifying two tree frogs not only using their genomic DNA but also using highly non-invasive eDNA.

        The effect of oxidation time on the characteristics and mechanical properties of spent nuclear fuel cladding was investigated using Raman spectroscopy, tube rupture test, and tensile test. As oxidation time increased, the Raman peak associated with the tetragonal zirconium oxide phase diminished and merged with the Raman peak associated with the monoclinic zirconium oxide phase near 333 cm−1. Additionally, the other tetragonal zirconium oxide phase peak at 380 cm−1 decreased after 100 d of oxidation, whereas the zirconium monoclinic oxide peak became the dominant peak. The oxidation time had no effect on the tube rupture pressure of the oxidized zirconium alloy tube. However, the yield and tensile stresses of the oxidized nuclear fuel cladding tube decreased after 100 d of oxidation. The results of the scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy were represented with the in-situ Raman analysis result for the oxide characteristics generated on the cladding of spent nuclear fuel.

        목적: Gullstrand 모형안에서 색수차를 이론적으로 산출하였으며, 3D 시뮬레이션을 통해 확인하였고, 두 결과를 서로 비교하고자 했다. 방법 : 이론적 색수차는 Mathematica 12.3.1(Wolfram Research, USA)를 통해 산출하였으며, Gullstrand 모형안의 3D 구현은 Ansys SPEOS Ver. 2012(ANSYS Inc, USA)를 이용하였고, 가시광선 영역의 파장에서 노 란색( =586.700  ), 파란색( =486.100  ) 및 빨간색( =656.300  ) 광선의 종색수차와 횡색수차를 측정하였다. 결과 : 이론적 및 모의적인 방법 모두에서 입사광선의 높이가 증가하고, 파장이 짧아질수록 모형안을 통과한 광선의 초점거리는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 모형안의 중심부에서 주변부로 갈수록 종색수차는 미세하게 감소하 였으나, 횡색수차는 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 결론 : 이론적 및 모의적인 방법으로 확인한 색수차는 거의 유사한 추의를 보였으나, 매우 미세한 차이가 발견 되었다. 색수차의 다양한 특성을 파악하기 위해서는 모형안에서 조절이나 굴절이상과 같은 조건의 정밀한 모델링 이 반영된 후속 연구가 필요할 것으로 판단된다.

        Imperforate hymen is a rare congenital disorder that may predispose to retention of fluid in the vagina and uterus, thereby resulting in conditions such as hematocolpos, pyocolpos, and pyocolpometra in female dogs. A 7-year-old intact female shih tzu exhibiting abdominal distension, depression, anorexia, dysuria, dyschezia, and tenesmus was diagnosed with pyocolpos; a 9-year-old intact female Yorkshire terrier with abdominal mass, dysuria, and tenesmus was diagnosed with hematocolpos; and a 7-year-old intact female shih tzu with dysuria, dyschezia, anorexia, and vomiting was diagnosed with pyocolpometra. Ovariohysterectomy and partial vaginectomy were performed, and the blind end of the vaginal stump was omentalized. This clinical report provide diagnostic process and surgical treatment option for congenital vaginal obstruction cases.
