        In this study, thermoplastic starch (TPS), cross-linked starch (CS), and cross-linked starch modified with glycerol (CTPS) were prepared, and the mechanical properties of the compatibilized low-density polyethylene (LDPE) blends (LDPE/TPS, LDPE/CS, and LDPE/CTPS) were investigated and compared with those of uncompatibilized LDPE/TPS, LDPE/CS, and LDPE/CTPS blends. Maleic-anhydride-grafted polyethylene was used as the compatibilizer. The enhanced tensile strength and elongation at break for the compatibilized LDPE/modified starch blends are a result of the improved compatibility between LDPE and the modified starch, which was confirmed by torque measurements and scanning electron microscopy.

        In this paper, ship accidents are analyzed briefly and the main objective is to investigate a potential technological approach for risk assessment of vessel stability. Ship nonlinear motion equation and main parameters that induce ship capsizing in beam seas have analyzed, the survival probability of a ferry in random status have estimated and finally find out a risk assessment concept for ship's intact stability estimation by safe basin simulation method. Since a few main parameters are considered in the paper, it is expected to be more accurately for estimating ship survival probability when considering ship rolling initial condition and all other impact parameters in the future research.

        Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] protein is excellent nutritional factors and is widely used for human and animal feed in the world. Glycinin(11S globulin) and ß-conglycinin(7S globulin) account for storage protein from 70% to 80% in soybean seed. ß-conglycinin is composed of α’, α and ß subunits, encoded by the genes Cgy1, Cgy2, and Cgy3, respectively. β-conglycinin protein exhibits poor nutritional and food processing properties. Lipoxygenase is responsible for the beany flavor and is responsible for the inferior nutritional quality of unheated or incompletely heated soybean meal. The objective of this research was to select F2 seeds with lipoxygenase-free and low content of ß-conglycinin for breeding of high quality soybean cultivar. A total of 582 F2 seeds were obtained from the cross of 10F1(lipoxygenase-free, normal content of 7S protein) and T311(lipoxygenase-present, low content of 7S protein). Lipoxygenase and 7S proteins in mature seeds were detected by SDS-PAGE. The segregation ratio of 3 : 1 for Shr locus (418 Shr_ : 164 shrshr) were observed. This result shows that the Shr locus is controlled by a single gene. Among 164 shriveled seeds, 6 F2 seeds with lipoxygenase-free, α’ subunit-free, and low content of α and ß subunit were selected. Among 418 normal seeds, 6 F2 seeds with lipoxygenase-free, α’ subunit-free, and low content of α and ß subunit were selected. These results will be used in breeding program for improving high quality soybean cultivar.

        This study evaluates how activation plans presented by previous research are perceived by employees in the ship supply industry by sample surveys. Another objective of this study is to also assist in the selection of effective activation plans. It is becoming more and more difficult for the Port of Busan to strengthen its competitiveness in the ship supply industry by maintaining the status quo. Much research extending the scope of research subjects in the port logistics industry indicates that the development of the port logistics industry is very important for creating new value for the Port of Busan. The results shows that improvement in the retail structure and government support had a significantly positive correlation between the importance and necessity of the ship supply industry activation.

        Ginseng (Panax ginseng) is frequently used in Asian countries as a traditional medicine. The major components of ginseng are ginsenosides. Among these, ginsenoside compound K has been reported to prevent the formation of malignancy and metastasis of cancer by blocking the formation of tumor and suppressing the invasion of cancer cells. In this study, ginsenoside Rb1 was converted into compound K, via secreted β-glucosidase enzyme from the Leuconostoc lactis DC201 isolated, which was extracted from Kimchi. The strain DC201 was suspended and cultured in MRS broth at 37℃. Subsequently, the residue from the cultured broth supernatant was precipitated with EtOH and then dissolved in 20 mM sodium phosphate buffer (pH 6.0) to obtain an enzyme liquid. Meanwhile, the crude enzyme solution was mixed with ginsenoside Rb1 at a ratio of 1:4 (v/v).The reaction was carried out at 30℃ and 190 rpm for 72 hours, and then analyzed by TLC and HPLC. The result showed that ginsenoside Rb1 was transformed into compound K after 72 hours post reaction.
