Vehicle body damage caused by accidents often presents unique conditions, making it difficult to acquire practical maintenance skills through textbook theory alone. To address this issue, this study explores body repair techniques, including the complete replacement, partial replacement, and modification of side quarter panels, with a focus on preventing depreciation, reducing environmental pollution, and maximizing vehicle owner satisfaction. In particular, the study highlights the need for a standardized body repair manual for vehicles with severe damage to the rear side members caused by rear-end collisions. This manual aims to minimize repair discrepancies due to differences in operator skill levels and proposes a solution to prevent the depreciation of vehicle market value after repairs. The study’s objective is to standardize the repair and replacement of rear side members in vehicle repair shops, ensuring consistent repair quality for consumers and contributing to the preservation of vehicle value.

Automobiles are an essential means of transporting passengers and cargo, but traffic accidents are inevitable in their operation. These accidents can occur in various forms, such as front, rear, and side collisions. The resulting damage to the vehicle can also be seen similarly; it is inherently distinct: the complexity of repairing the car body makes a simple reliance on textbook knowledge insufficient. Successful correction of the damaged body largely depends on the experience of the practitioner. Discussions on body repair techniques should be based on empirical data reflecting current industry standards and associated costs. The variability of individual repair methodologies can result in significant time and financial expenditure in the field of automotive bodies. Application of new material technologies to vehicle fabrication requires continuous training and empirical research, especially on the body repair process involving new materials. In particular, since the left and right aprons and side members are made of different materials, such as aluminum and high-strength steel, careful restoration of these parts is required. Technical considerations are needed. Interest in safety and environmental impacts. In this study, SPR bonding technology analyzes experimental results.

Traffic accidents that occur while driving a car are inevitable, and the characteristics of the body repair field are that each vehicle accident has the same damage and no same repair conditions. Therefore, it is difficult to acquire know-how in vehicle body repair simply by theoretical method of textbook, and the repair method must be changed as new materials and new technologies are applied to it. In particular, roof panels are not frequently damaged by traffic accidents, but they are damaged by falling objects from the roof of a building or the opposite lane, resulting in roof bending and vehicle repair using dent repair to minimize VOC and reduce costs. In this study, the optimal maintenance method is proposed by analyzing the time, cost, and waste generation according to the work method when the degree of damage is large and replacement is required

As the time and cost of body repair can be greatly incurred due to differences in individual technologies, body repair technology should be discussed based on data on general working standards and costs, and as new material technology is applied to the body, continuous learning and experiment on vehicle body repair technology is essential. Since the left and right apron and side members with SPR bonding technology are made of different materials, aluminum and high-strength steel, the restoration of the left and right apron side members should be considered technically, as well as safety and environmental pollution. In this study, we experiment with heterogeneous apron and side members applied with SPR bonding and analyze the results.

Considering the features of body repair for automotive body where same damage and repair conditions does not exist in car accident, it is essential to acquire know-how and continuously approach new materials and new technologies on the site of maintenance where the theoretical instruction of textbook cannot react accurately minute by minute. Especially, in case of car repair from unexpected accidents such as body repair or dent repair, it is difficult to satisfy vehicle owners despite their request. Accordingly, this study researched the better maintenance technology to restore to its original state with more improved technology as vehicle owners wish. This study made time to repair reduced by 98% and the cost reduced by 79.6% through the accurate diagnostic technique before repair and maintenance technologies of body crash analysis applying property of high-speed tensile. It also obtains intangible effects including prevention of environmental pollution and maximization of vehicle owners satisfaction.
