        The ceramic forming materials are getting more important recently since they are used widely in repairing metal structures, welded metal structures and mechanical components etc. The determination of elastic constants for ceramic coating materials takes much time and efforts in experiment due to the brittleness of ceramic material itself. The aim of this research is to determine the Young's Modulus for ceramic metal coating material. In order to achieve the goal, the hybrid method which uses impulse hammer technique for experimental method and modal analysis of finite element method for computational method was used. The results show good agreement with existing experimental data on Young's Modulus.

        The Charpy and Izod impact tests are the most prevalent techniques used to characterize the effects of high impulse loads on polymeric materials. An analysis method for rubber toughened PVC is suggested to evaluated critical dynamic strain energy release rates(Gc) from the Charpy impact tester was used to extract ancillary information concerning fracture parameters in additional to total fracture energies and maximum critical loads. The dynamic stress intensity factor KID was computed for varying amounts of rubber contents from the obtain maximum critical loads and also toughening effects were investigated as well. The fracture surfaces produced under low velocity impact for PVC/MBS composites were investigated by SEM. The results show that MBS rubber is very effective reinforcement material for toughening PVC.

        The vertical impact crusher is the machine which could produce artifical sand similar to natural aggregates in the site of guarry and pits. FEM was used to analyse the stress and strength of the machine at high rotational speed. The test specimen was made from the same material as the shaft and tension tests were conducted. The Shaft under extreme conditions was analysed to determine maximum stress level and its location from the results. The maximum level of stress and its location could be predicted.

        구조물이 점점 더 커짐에 따라 그들을 분석하고 설계하는 것이 더 복잡해지고 더 많은 시간이 요구된다. 현재 사용되는 단일 프로세서를 가진 컴퓨터는 그와 같은 구조물을 해석하기에 효율적이지 못하다고 여겨진다. 이 논문에서는 거대규모의 구조물을 분석하기 위하여 컴포넌트 모우드법(CMM)과 메시지전달 시스템(MPI)을 이용함으로써 표준 병렬기법과 고도로 효율적이고 이식성 있는 프로그램을 새로 개발하였다. 이 연구에서는 구조물의 동적 해석을 위해 병렬처리기법을 지닌 컴퓨터 프로그램이 제시되고 새로 개발된 프로그램이 신뢰도를 갖고 있다는 것이 입증된다. 또한 이 프로그램은 상업용 프로그램보다 훨씬 처리속도가 빠르고 병렬처리 컴퓨터에서도 사용될 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

        The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and performance of nitrogen and phosphorus removal system, Daewoo Nutrients Removal(DNR) system, and to find out the operating parameter for the system. During the study, $10m^3$ pilot plant was operated for the demonstration experiment and the primary effluent was taken from K domestic sewage treatment plant. The TN in the influent had been removed to approximately 70% through the nitrfication in the oxic tank and the denitrfication in the anoxic tank and the $PO_4-P$ and TP in the influent had been removed to 85% and 83% through anaerobic reaction and oxic reaction. The BOD and SS removal rate were 85 to 95% through the system. As the results, the values of effluent BOD, SS and slouble phosphorus were lower than A/O and $A^2/O$ processes. The SPRR (specific phosphorus release rate) at the anaerobic state of DNR system was ranged from 2.2 to 2.6mg SP/g VSS/h. The nutrient removal efficieny of the DNR system in view of the characteristics of the domestic sewage was higher than the pre-established A/O and $A^2/O$ processes. Finally, we believe that the DNR system was superior to the processes deveolped recently.

        A Stepped beam with immovable ends under forced vibrations with large amplitude is investigated by using the finite element method and the Ritz vectors. Unlike the Eigen vectors, the Ritz vectors are generated by a simple recurrence relation. Moreover the Ritz vectors yield much faster convergence with respect to the number of vectors used than the use of Eigen vectors. The computer program is developed for nonlinear analysis using Ritz vectors instead of Eigen vectors and numerical examples are analysed for deflections and natural frequencies of stepped beam under various support conditions. Results show that the proposed method is valid and efficient.
