        Mechanically pre-treated combustible waste was carbonized at 350 ~ 500oC. In order to determine the optimum carbonization temperature of the produced material, the energy yield, fixed carbon rate, fuel ratio, combustibility index, and characteristics of the coal band were studied. The sample (C425) carbonized at 425oC turned out to be the ideal one in terms of the energy yield and fuel characteristics. Grinding and washing were used for dechlorination of C425. Of these two methods, particle diameter of less than 0.125 mm and washing within two turns displayed chlorine concentration of 0.3%. These results not only satisfied the recommended standard for coal and mixed fuel (0.5wt.%) but also the quality standard for solid fuel (2.0wt.%). In conclusion, carbonization of combustible waste materials resulted in fuel characteristics similar to those of coal, indicating that this process allows for the production of solid fuel with low chlorine content.

        This study aimed to obtain the relative formula with the unit treatment cost according to the treatment of a sewage plant in the service area under highway. The following results were obtained. The correlative formula connected to amount of sewage(Q)generation was as follows ; between an annual amount of sale(C) showed Q=19.113·C0.9294, and between the number of users(P) showed Q=2×10-8·P2 - 0.0298·P + 75,666. The correlative formula connected to the treatment cost was as follows ; according to the amount of sewage generation showed S= 3×10-6·Q - 0.2266·Q + 29,895, according to the elimination of BOD(E) showed S= 6×10-5·E2 - 0.6717·E + 27,744, accoding to the annual amount of sale showed S=0.0005·C2 - 4.8013·C + 35,118, with the number of persons(P) using the service area showed S= 2×10-8·P2 - 0.046·P + 48,803.

        This study was to analyze the right or wrong of gray-water treatment by applying BPBE electrode cell to the effluence water in the terminal disposal plant of sewage. The results were as follows : The best result was obtained with applied voltage 40V and detention time 6 minutes for the BPBE electrode cell which has the graphite-plate in main electro-de, packing coconut activated carbon. The elimination rate of COD of Al-plate was higher than that of graphite-plate in main electrode. The result of electrolysis for 3 hour in parallel circuit showed the using possibility of gray-water according to each elimination rate : COD 59%, T-N 69 %, T-P 69%. The BPBE electrode cell with the Al-plate in main electrode made the best effect for the elimination of algae in lake water and algae were not occurred in electrolytic water
