        본 연구는 유학(儒學)의 핵심을 덕(德)으로 상정하여,『논어(論語)』의 덕(德) 과 연관한 도(道)⋅인(仁)⋅예(藝)와의 용례 분석에 기초하여 덕교육적 의미를 탐구하고자 하였다. 이는 도덕적 실천과 윤리적 가치의 다원성 및 사회공동체 의 역사문화적 배경 등을 견지하는 현대 덕 윤리학의 관점을 지지하는 연장 선상에서, 전통 교육이 표방하는 덕교육적 의미를 강조하고 지금의 교육을 성 찰하기 위한 것이다. 일반적으로 도(道)는 자연에 관한 이치를 표방하는 반면, 덕(德)은 인간을 주체로 하여 주로 논의되고 있다. 그러나 공부를 하여 도를 이해하고 실행하 여 실제로 내 마음에 얻은 것을 덕이라고 하듯이, 공공(公共)의 가치와 지향점 을 체득하게 된다면 바로 도를 깨우친 덕인(德人)이 된다. 따라서 도는 덕에 의해 보다 구체화 된다. 인(仁)은 덕목 중의 하나로서 위계구조상 덕의 하위 범주에 해당하며, 덕의 속성과 특징으로도 논의된다. 그러나 『논어』의 핵심을 인으로 상정하고, 인을 구체적인 인간과 인간다움을 기반으로 이해하자면, 인은 모든 덕의 기초이자 본질적인 요소가 된다. 예(藝)는 예술이나 문예 등의 의미로 이해할 수 있지만, 인을 중심으로 하 여 구체적인 실천 덕목을 이행하고 실현함으로써 덕을 함양하고자 하는 도덕 군자를 주체로 하자면, 예(藝)는 군자가 탐구하는 유학의 학문으로서, 도덕적 실천을 중심으로 하는 덕교육적 교과 영역이나 교과 내용이다. 『논어』의 덕은 구체적인 실천 덕목과 확연히 차별화되어 진술되고 있지 않 고 있으며, 덕과 덕목 간의 위계구조 역시 명확하지 않다. 따라서 『논어』의 덕은 인(仁)을 중심으로 하여 실천 주체와 대상 또는 덕목 간의 관계성 측면 에서 중층구조를 띄고 있으며, 도(道)를 이해하고 깨우침으로써 공공(公共)의 가치와 선(善)을 지향하고 언행일치를 도모하는 등 일상생활에서의 지속적인 이행과 함양을 촉구한다.

        This paper has composed of 4 chapters which are as followed. Chapter one deals with introduction which explains reasons and background of research. Chapter two is entitled “a paradigm shit of people centered missions.” Chapter Three has put much time on priority missions. Chapter four has discussed on perspective of future missions. Chapter five deals with concluding thoughts of this paper. This paper has focused on a paradigm shift of people missions concept and priority missions. The writer has also spent time with searching and collecting data with current missions statistics. He also has emphasized on impact of unreached people concept which led into world church to get involved for world evangelization. From the introduction part, the author has attempted to explain the importance of this research. He gives legitimacy for this studies which is relevant to today’s world of missions-focused atmosphere. He also provides much statistics of current missions around world. The author emphasizes that the innovation of people concept missions has played vital role not only to Korean church, but also around the world. In Chapter two author has spent time with defining the term people concept missions which is derived from Matthew 28:19 that it’s portion was all the nations(ethne). The ethne stands for ethnic, culture, language, gentiles and outside people rather than nations or countries. Author explains that how 1974 the Lausanne congress for world Evangelization gave birth of people concept missions. Chapter two gives also explanation of what other missions agencies adopted proper use of people group and the unreached people group. In Chapter three the writer has provided of necessity of priority missions. the Least reached people group missions should be applied by nations, religions, people groups and the least untargeted people group. Priority mission strategy should be the last method to reach the lost with gospel. In last two chapters authors deals with much about proposals and outlook on future missions. He suggest that future mission strategy should be based up priority missions so that global christian world would accomplish within the period. Author hope that there are so many opportunities and potential when the world evangelical church sincerely take this obligations puting into practice.

        The modern Korean missions movement cannot be accurately understood apart from its relationship to the church growth movement and the revival movement. Therefore, the main purpose of this dissertation is to examine the factors contributing to the development of the modern Korean missions movement via historical analysis. Chapter 1 introduces the primary purpose of this dissertation, explains and defines the dissertations title, provides a brief survey of the current Korean missions movement, and outlines the background for the proposal. It also describes the plan and methodology to be used for this work. Because these are some ambiguities about the definitions of the missions movement, this chapter clarifies the definition of the modern Korean missions movement. Chapter 2 examines the history of missions in Korea. Though Korea has a brief history of overseas missions experience, this chapter attempts a through study, in order to understand today's Korean missions movement. This chapter details the earlychurch's foreign mission efforts in Korea and examines the significant role of foreign missions after the Korean War. A brief survey of the monumental efforts toward modern missions are included. Finally, a discussion regarding college campus missions which have contributed significantly to the birth of the missions movement in Korea isfound in this chapter. Chapter 3 seeks to determine the direction that the Korean church is going in foreign missions in today's world. Accordingly, there are four major missions forces in the Korean church. There are also many denominations in the Protestant churches. This author discusses the mission boards of major denominations because they represent the Korean church. This chapter attempts to show how para-church missions are successful in Korea. It also explains well college campus missions which have been pivotal in the modern Korean missions movement. Finally, this chapter examines how local churches participate in foreign missions. Chapter 4 concerns the main thrust of this dissertation. This chapter examines four significant factors regarding the development and the contributions of the modern Korean missions movement. The important atmosphere of its socio-political factors is examined in this chapter. Economic factors that made rapid Korean church growth possible is studied as part of the missions movement. Theological factors also made a great impact on the Korean missions movement and are discussed in this chapter. Chapter 5 provides an overview of tomorrow's missionary efforts in the Korean church. It explains the strategic sending of missionaries under the current mission circumstances. It also discusses a paradigm shift for Korean missions. Finally, it covers missionary training and networking missions on the mission field. Chapter 6 is the conclusion. It summarizes the ideas and thoughts in a final form, emphasizing important facts presented in the dissertation.
