From March of 2009 through November of 2010, 76 enumeration districts were installed in the Mt. Duryunsan of Haenam to carry out vegetation survey. The dominant species of current vegetation of the Mount Duryun in the overstory correspond to Quercus acuta forest, Carpinus turczaninowii forest, Quercus mongolica forest, Carpinus tschonoskii community, Carpinus laxiflora forest, Quercus variabilis forest, Zanthoxylum ailanthoides forest, Neolitsea sericea forest. As for the artificial plantation forest, the result shows that Chamaecyparis obtusa forest are afforested around the Daeheungsa Buddhist Temple. As for phytosociological vegetation types, Quercus serrata community group is divided into Camellia japonica community and Carpinus turczaninowii community. Camellia japonica community is subdivided into Neolitsea sericea group and Camellia japonica typical group, while Carpinus turczaninowii community is subdivided into Quercus mongolica group and Carpinus turczaninowii typical group. Therefore, the Mt. Duryunsan is classified into 1 community group, 2 communities and 4 groups and it is divided into 4 vegetation units in total.
