Most of the plastics products have been manufactured by injection molding. Molding trouble in injection-molded parts is caused by changing a molding product and molding process condition, etc. In this study, warpage in the injection molded part have been studied. specimens are rectangular flat shape with and without ribs. Non-crystalline resins (PC) and crystalline resins (PA66) were used for material and 30% glass fiber reinforced-resins(PC, PA66). Flat shape ribs showed higher warpage than flat shape without rib by 10 to 41%. the specimens with ribs that are located parallel to flow direction has higher warpage than the specimens with rib that are located perpendicular to flow direction by 11 to 50%. crystalline resins have higher warpage than non-crystalline resins by 22 to 78%.

Root knot nematodes were extracted from five different plants (indian spinach, papaya, sweet gourd, okra and jute) collected from kurigram, gazipur, jessore and patuakhali districts of Bangladesh. Firstly, Meloidogyne spp. were identified morphologically mainly based on perineal pattern of adult female. Secondly, female were collected from plant roots and used directly in PCR for amplification of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) region between COII and lrRNA genes followed by hinfI digestion and sequencing. The root knot nematodes in indian spinach, jute and sweet gourd were identified as M. incognita whereas in okra and papaya were M. javanica.

The sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, acts as a vector of more than 100 plant viruses. B. tabaci is known to harbor a primary endosymbiont (Portiera) and 6 secondary endosymbionts (Arsenophonus, Cardinium, Fritschea, Hamiltonella, Rickettsia and Wolbachia). These endosymbionts play important roles in the acquisition and transmission of plant viruses. Using PCR analysis, we identified endosymbiotic bacteria in various B. tabaci populations collected from different places of Korea. Distribution of endosymbionts was different according to the biotype of B. tabaci. Subsequently, their relative densities of endosymbionts were compared between TYLCV-viruliferous and non-viruliferous populations of the Q biotype using quantitative realtime PCR. We found that the densities of Portiera, Cardinium and Hamiltonella are higher in viruliferous than non-viruliferous whiteflies. Our results suggest the role of endosymbiont for the TYLCV transmission of whiteflies.

The sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, is a vector of more than 100 plantdiseased viruses as well as a serious pest to various horticultural crops. Virus acquisition affects the vector’s development and reproduction, but its mechanism is largely unknown. Here we compared the temperature responses between non-viruliferous and TYLCV-viruliferous Q biotype of B. tabaci. When both non-viruliferous and viruliferous whiteflies were exposed for 1 and 3 h at 4, 25, and 35°C, the mortality rate of viruliferous whiteflies is higher than nonviruliferous after exposure at 4°C and 35°C, but no differences at 25°C between them. Analysis of the expression levels of heat shock protein (hsp) genes using the quantitative realtime PCR showed that viruliferous whiteflies has higher expression in hsp70, and hsp90 at both 4°C and 35°C, but no differences at 25°C. The results suggest that vector insects may not be durable to unfavorable temperature conditions when they acquisite plant viruses.

In a revision of four Eurydema speices recorded in Far East Asia, we confirm only two species, one of which consists of two subspecies: E. dominulus (Scopoli 1763) [=E. pulchra (Westwood 1837), syn. nov.], E. gebleri gebleri Kolenati 1846, and E. gebleri rugosa Motschulsky 1861 [stat. nov.]. In order to prove the above taxonomic changes, we compared three major characters; (1) the color patterns, (2) the mitochondrial COI (DNA barcoding) and (3) cross– breeding fertility (inter–specific copulation). Two subspecies, E. g. rugosa and E. g. gebleri, preserve their own unique coloration patterns, confirmed by the intra–subspecific copulation and breeding. Interestingly, the 1st progeny from the inter–subspecific copulation of E. g. rugosa♂ X E. g. gebleri♀ (or E. g. gebleri♂ X E. g. rugosa♀) take the coloration patterns inherited from E. g. gebleri.

Species of root knot nematodes, Meloidogyne spp. were identified through the PCR amplification and sequence analysis of mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) region between COII and lrRNA genes. Root knot nematodes were extracted from 5 plant samples [kiwi (Japan), rhododendron (Japan), cornus (Japan), ficus (China) and jasmine (Vietnam)] that were collected from Plant Quarantine Station in Korea. At first, species was identified using morphological characters, such as the length and shape of stylet, the tail length and the perineal patterns. Secondary, single individuals of either female and juvenile collected from plant tissues were used for PCR and further sequencing analysis. The results showed that cornus, jasmine and ficus plants were infected by M. incognita, and kiwi and rhododendron plants were infected by M. interolobii.

Experimental measurements of flame shape and heat transfer characteristics were performed for impinged inverse diffusion flame(IDF) using propane as a fuel. The purpose of this study is to identify the favorable co-axial inverse diffusion flame structure for impingement heating. The flame consisted of an entrainment zone and mixing and combustion zone. The heat flux which represents heat transfer rate is measured by using a heat flux sensor that is located at the center of the impingement plate. The inverse diffusion flame structure has been classified into six modes. In these modes, several favorable flames for impingement heating were identified. In this study, the parameters are overall equivalent ratio(Φ), nozzle to impingement plate distance(h/d), vertical distance from the stagnation point and Reynolds number(Re) of combustion air.

The sweetpotato whitefly, Bemisia tabaci, is a vector insect of more than 100 plant-diseased viruses as well as a serious pest of various horticultural crops. B. tabaci is a species-complex that consists of at least 24 biotypes, which show different biological characteristics including host range, fecundity, insecticide resistance and virus transmission. Here we identified biotype, endosymbiotic bacteria, and tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) acquisition of various B. tabaci populations collected in Korea. In addition, we compared those profiles with B. tabaci collected from Bangladesh and Myanmar, and the greenhouse whitefly, Trialeurodes vaporariorum. PCR diagnosis of cytochrome oxidase I (COI) showed that all B. tabaci populations of Korea were Q-biotype and closely related with a subgroup I (MedBasin 1), which is indigenous to the Western Mediterranean area. Ribosomal DNA analysis of 5 endosymbionts showed that both Cardinium and Hamiltonella were detected in most tested populations while the presence of Arsenophonus, Fritschea and Wolbachia dependent on populations. Our results suggest that the acquisition of TYLCV do not related with the endosymbiont profile of B. tabaci.

We measured the non-carbon content of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) in SWCNT soot using thermogravimetric analysis. The weight increased percentage by the oxidation of metal in the raw soot is well obtained by TGA graph which was confirmed with ICP-AES, XRD, and XPS. This work will be very useful for the purity precise evaluation of SWCNT with UN-vis-NIR spectroscopy.
