본 연구는 국내에 유통되고 있는 분화 심비디움 11 품종의 절화 수명에 대해 조사하고자 실시하였다. 심비디움 절화수명은 ‘Red Heart’(5일)와 ‘Cosai’(5 일), ‘Hukumusme’(4일)로 가장 짧았고, 가장 긴 것은 ‘Golden Bambi’(21일)로 절화수명이 짧은 품종의 4배 정도 수명이 길었다. ‘Golden Bell’, ‘Miss Kim’, ‘Marine Green’ 의 절화수명은 8~10일이었고, ‘Golden Tiara’, ‘UFO’, ‘Orange Fresh’, ‘Gengi’의 절화수명은 6~7일이었다. 절화수명연장제 ‘화정’과 ‘Florbelle’의 100 배, 200배액 처리시 처리 별로 절화수명에는 큰 차이는 나지 않았으나 ‘화정’ 100배액이 품종에 따라 절화수명 에 효과가 있었다.

노랑색 절화용 스프레이 카네이션 품종 ‘Leo’는 ‘Ballantyne’과 ‘West peachy’ 품종을 인공 교배하여 국립원예특작과학원에서 육성되었다. ‘Leo’는 1999년에 교배하여 2001-2003년까지 품종 특성을 조사하였고, 2003년에 최종 선발하였다. ‘Leo’는 절화용의 연노랑 스프레이 품종으로 꽃수는 대조 품종보다 다소 적으나 개화가 빠르고 분지수가 많은 특징을 보였다. 또한 절 화수명은 9일이고 시들음병에는 ‘중’ 정도의 저항성이 있다.

분홍색 스프레이 카네이션 품종 ‘Lyra’는 노랑색 스프레이 품종 ‘Ballantyne’와 적색 스프레이 품종 ‘Chateau’을 인공 교배하여 국립원예특작과학원에서 육성되었다. ‘Lyra’는 1999년에 교배하여 2001-2003년까지 품종 특성을 조사하였고, 2003년에 최종 선발하였다. ‘Lyra’는 밝은 분홍색 절화 스프레이 품종으로 다 분지성이고 절화장이 길며 향기가 있는 조기 개화성 품종이다. 절화 수명은 7일이고 시들음병에는 중간정도의 저항

A new cultivar of Dianthus caryophyllus "Deneb" was selected from the progenies of a cross "Mantovani" and "Deborah" in 1996 at the National Horticultural Research Institute, Rural Development Administration. It was finally selected in 2001 after the investigation of the characteristics for five years (1996-2001). "Deneb" was developed for a cut flower with a spray type. It has white with red edge flower color. The flower color is particularly clean and beautiful in indoor. It has a long flower stem and a long vase life. It is grown over 8℃ at night and under 25℃ at day. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection 2001 and was released to the growers and commercialized in 2002.

It has red flower color and lots of petals. It was moderately resistant against Fusarium oxysporum. Its flower looks like a rose when the outer petals bloom. It is grown over 8℃ at night and under 25℃ at day. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection 2001 and was released to the growers and commercialized in 2002.
