        This study was conducted to determine the effects of deep breathing exercise and ankle exercise on blood flow velocity in the femoral vein. Sixteen healthy male students were recruited from Yonsei University, at Wonju. The blood flow velocities in the femoral vein were measured under three different conditions: resting, deep breathing, and ankle exercise. All subjects were given a 5-minute relaxing time in supine position prior to the study. Using a doppler ultrasound with a 8 MHz probe, the peak blood flow velocities were collected in a twenty-second-period at each condition. The subjects took a rest in between trials for the blood flow to return to its resting levels. The result showed a significant difference in peak blood flow velocities under those three conditions (p<.001). The peak blood flow velocity was highest in ankle exercise condition. The peak blood velocity was significantly higher in deep breathing condition compared with the resting condition. As a result, it is revealed that not only the muscular contractions but also the deep breathing exercises induced facilitating effects of venous return. Either of the exercise methods can be recommended to prevent blood stasis in patients with risk of deep vein thrombosis after cardiac or lower extremity surgery.ㅂ

        본연구는 시설내 다양한 환경조건하에서 오이의 호흡속도에 관한 수리적 모형을 개발하고자 실시하였다. 개개 오이 식물에 대한 총광합성속도의 8.55%가 호흡에 사용되었다. 생장호흡계수는 0.0935로 추정되었고 유지호흡속도는 24℃ 온도에서 0.00158g CH2O.g-1.h-1로 추정되었다. 그리고 그것은 온도상승에 따라 지수적으로 증가하였다. 호흡속도는 저장 탄수화물량이 낮아짐에 따라 비례적으로 감소했고 뿌리의 이온흡수호흡속도는 0.6648g CH2O.(gN)-1로 추정되었다.

        To obtain the basic data on precooling effects for establishment the suitable postharvest handling technique or method of keeping high quality of vegetalble corn, the sweet, supersweet and waxy corn, (Danok #2, Cocktail #86 and Chalok #1), being mainly consumed as vegetables in Korea, were precooled with ice or vacuum cooling method immediately after harvest. The vacuum cooling was the most effective for the field heat removal of vegetable corn. It took only 30 min. at 4 to 5 torr of cold chamber pressure of vacuum precooler to lower the corn temperature from 30 to 2. The ice cooling was also thought to be a useful precooling method with relatively short cooling time of 6 hrs. The vegetable corn treated with vacuum or ice cooling showed low and stable respiration rates of 25.5 to 43.5 CO2 mg/kg/hr. when stored at 0∼2 while the samples stored at room temperature (20∼25) without precooling were as high as 64.1 to 245 CO, mg/kg/hr.

        For the measurement of the change of respiration rate caused by the gas content of storage atmosphere which furnishes important data for the interpretation of ULO storage, GC was used. It has been shown that the respiration rate and respiratory heat generation rate of Fuji apple is more than doubled in normal low temperature storage when compared with ULO storage, and that in ULO storage the respiration rate and respiratory heat generation rate directly proportional to the concentration of O2 in storage atmosphere as well as inversely proportional to that of CO2. It was possible to establish a functional formula for the respiratory heat generation rate of Fuji apple in all the storage conditions in terms of u=-0.7638+0.0003 O2-0.0007 log(CO2)+0.1369 log(Tb) concerning temperature and the concentration of O2 and CO2

        품종간 엽중수분변화에 대한 광합성과 호흡에 미치는 영향을 밝히기 위하여 온실에서 자란 잎담배 5품종의 엽중수분함량을 변화시켜서 광일광합성속도, 호흡속도, 기공저항 및 엽육저항을 각각 조사한 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 품종간 광합성속도는 N. longiflora가 20.7mg CO2 /dm2 /hr로 제일 컸고 Burley종이 제일 적었다. 2. 광합성속도와 단위엽면적당 건물중과는 정의 상관을 보였다. 3. 안동엽은 WSD 53%에서 광합성속도가 50%정도 감소되었으나 Burley 21은 외관상으로 위조상태 이전인 WSD 43%에서 광합성능력을 상실하여 재배품종은 N. longiflora와 안동엽보다 수분결핍에 의해 광합성 작용이 크게 억제되었다. 4. 품종간 호흡속도의 변화는 수분결핍 초기에 약간 증가하다가 광합성속도와 같은 경향으로 감소하였다. 5. 수분결핍에 따라 기공저항과 엽육저항은 증가되었으며 수분결핍에 의한 광합성속도의 감소는 주로 기공이 닫혀지기 때문으로 본다.
