In these days, mobile technology such as smart phone and GPS have an effect on business processes of many companies especially a transportation company. The purpose of this paper is to present the development processes of real time vehicles tracking and intelligent TMS(Transportation Management System) using smart phone applications.
The objective of this study is two-fold. The first is to redesign business process of the transportation company. Using BPR(business process re-engineering), we analyze current processes to find opportunities for improvement redefining processes after adopting mobile technology precisely. The second is to develop the real time vehicles tracking and intelligent TMS. Proposed system consists of four parts: (1) intelligent TMS(web system) (2) real time vehicle tracking application for TMS (3) real time tracking application for customer (4) salesman supporting application. Developed system was tested at the transportation company and was found to be useful system.

Door to door service is a typical method for individual parcel deliveries. In the current delivery information system, a delivery person manually input the information of many delivery results, which causes inefficiency and difficulties of tracking deliveries. This study suggests an enhanced delivery information system which has the following two characteristics. Firstly, a tagged RFID transmits the delivery result information to the main server by just collecting RFID at a place of destination. Secondly, with the characteristics of rewritable method, the collected RFID is to be input new information and tagged to other parcels.

본 연구는 조선기자재 수출입 기업체를 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 수출입 물류에 관한 일반사항과 물류실태, 화물정보 제공, 화물 식별 및 분류, 화물 오배송 및 손상 등의 화물관리 상의 애로요인과 개선방안을 조사, 분석하여 조선기자재 수출입 물류에 있어서 화물 관리의 문제점과 해결방안을 제시하였다. 조선기자재 수출입 물류가 원할히 이루어지기 위해서는 수출입 업체와 물류관련 업체 간의 화물상 태와 위치에 관한 정보가 실시간으로 제공되어야 할 것이다. 그리고 수출입 화물의 지연과 소실 및 오배송을 줄이고 물류효율성을 제고하기 위해서는 표준 화물 분류시스템과 인식시스템의 제정이 시급히 이루어져야 할 것이다. 또한 조선기자재 전문 포워더의 육성과 전문성 강화 가 필요하며, 이를 위해 포워더 담당자들에 대한 역량배양 교육을 수출입 업체와 물류업체가 공동으로 참여하여 조선기자재 제품 특성과 물 류 특성을 모두 반영하여 수행하여야 할 것이다.
