Research ethics is a desirable way of conducting responsible research, which means maintaining the integrity and complying with ethical norms in a particular field of research. Research integrity means keeping the values and standards required by researchers in the research process. Despite educational institutions' efforts to improve research ethics, the judgment of research cheating is on the rise. In addition, there were unclear regulations related to self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, and the scope of research ethics. If you are a researcher of human research, planning and conducting ethical research is the first step for research integrity. Researchers need to understand protecting research subjects conducting research, and educational institutions should review and improve the current curriculum to provide research ethics education more effectively. Before strengthening legal sanctions on research cheating centered on results, the government should seek solutions through fundamental cause analysis to prevent researchers from committing research cheating. Given the current status of research ethics educational institutions and the progress of policies so far, we hope that if everyone tries at the individual, educational institution, and government levels, we will move in a more positive direction.

목적 : 본 연구는 작업치료사의 생명윤리의식 정도와 특성을 알아보고자 실시하였다. 연구방법 : 본 연구는 생명윤리와 관련하여 Kwon(2003)의 연구에서 사용한 설문지의 문항을 저자의 동의받아 사용하였다. 설문지 내용은 대상자 일반적 특성과 생명윤리의식에 대한 9개 하위영역, 49개 문항으로 구성하였다. 설문은 직접 또는 우편을 통해 배부하여 수거하였고 최종 배부된 293부 중 응답의 성실성이 떨어지는 설문지를 제외하고 최종 272부를 분석하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 18.0 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계, 독립표본 티-검증, 일원배치분산분석, 사후검증은 쉐페검증으로 분석하였다. 결과 : 작업치료사들의 생명윤리의식은 중간보다 높은 수준이었으나, 윤리적 가치관이 확립되지 않아 의사 결정의 혼돈을 느끼고 있으며 생명윤리에 대한 문제로 갈등을 경험하였다. 결론 : 작업치료사의 올바른 생명윤리의식을 확립하기 위한 교육프로그램 개발의 기초자료로 사용 할 수 있을 것이다.

Science in the 21st century does not consider participants’ welfare, safety and human rights in clinical studies, but modern science puts economic profits in its priority. This leads to a growing concern about social responsibility and professionalism ethics of companies, sponsors and scientists. Specifically, there is no way to control conflicts of participants’ welfare with economic profits, leading to simply relying on individual ethics, social responsibilities and audit. This paper helps relevant agencies and people involved understand conflict of interest. Also this study presents the guidelines as well as independence, autonomy, ethical imagination and phronesis required for scientists.

본 논문의 목적은 생명공학 기술에 대한 찬성 또는 반대 의견에 대한 가치체계의 근간을 스노우(C. P. Snow)의 ‘두 문화’ 문제 - 과학문화와 인문문화 - 개념을 모티브로, 목적론적 윤리설과 의무론적 윤리설, 전통우생학과 자유주의우생학 등 가치선택의 다양한 갈래가 공존하고 있음을 논하는데 있다. 또한, 과학과 생명공학 기술에 대한 ‘잘못된 신화’- 과학의 객관성에 대한 신화, 과학과 과학자의 독립성과 자율성, 생명공학 기술의 세계기아 해결 - 를 지적함으로써 과학기술에 대한 적확한 판단을 모색하고 있다. 마지막으로, 생명공학 기술의 생산주체인 생명공학자에게 연구윤리와 사회적 책임은 물론 개방성, 도덕적 민감성과 상상력, 성찰과 품성의 윤리학을 요구하고 있다.
