The genus Microrhagus Dejean, 1833 is reviewed with four species from Korea: Microrhagus foveolatus (Fleutiaux, 1923), Microrhagus jejuensis sp. nov., Microrhagus mystagogus (Fleutiaux, 1923), and Microrhagus ramosus Fleutiaux, 1902. Herein, we provide a key to species of Korean Microrhagus, with diagnoses and photographs for each species.
The genus Dirrhagofarsus Fleutiaux, 1935 is firstly reported from Korea with three species, Dirrhagofarsus lewisi (Fleutiaux,1900), D. modestus (Fleutiaux, 1923), and D. unicolor (Hismatsu, 1960). Among them, D. unicolor was described asa ‘form(=f.)’ of D. modestus by Hismatsu (1960). In this study, we re-establish the status of this species as proper species,Dirrhagofarsus unicolor. We provided a key to Korean Dirrhagofarsus species, diagnoses, and photographs for each species.
False click beetles have been barely studied in the Korean peninsula. As a result of the present study, a total of 22 species belonging to 14 genera of Eucnemidae are reviewed from Korea, including two new species and 15 new records. Also, we conducted molecular phylogenetic study of the family Eucnemidae for estimating monophyly based on molecular fragments of mitochondrial protein coding gene (cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene, COI) and two nuclear ribosomal RNA genes (18S rRNA and 28S rRNA) by Bayesian Inference (BI) and Maximum Likelihood (ML) analysis. The result of the phylogenetic analyses indicated that Eucnemidae is a monophyletic group in Elateroidea, however, mostly form paraphyly compared to previous classification in subfamily level.
The genus Bioxylus Fleutiaux, 1923 is reported for the first time in Korea with three species, Bioxylus natsumiae Watanabe, 2009, B. pilosellus Hisamatsu, 1959 and B. personatus Mamaev, 1976. Diagnosis of the genus Bioxylus, a key to species and illustrations are provided.
A total of 13 species of Eucnemidae are recognized from Korea, including 11 species new to Korea. Descriptions, illustrations and keys to each species are provided.
Three species of the genus Isorhipis Lacordaire, 1835 are reviewed in Korea. Among them, I. banghaasi and I. minuta are reported for the first time in Korea. Description of genus Isorhipis, keys for identification each species and figures of external morphology are given.
