        The flourishing trend of using multiple technology-based self-service channels (hereafter, SSCs) can be found across various service industries. So far, no studies have explored the effect of multichannel interaction on breadth consumer relationship breadth (i.e., cross-buying intention). Based on brand extension theory and the cross-buying literature, this study proposed a conceptual model for understanding the key determinants of consumer cross-buying intention in the context of multiple SSCs. A total of 262 respondents who had experience with using both online and mobile banking were collected. The result revealed that perceived online banking quality (i.e., original SSC), image congruity, and value congruity facilitate consumer trust and satisfaction toward a mobile banking service (i.e., extension SSC). In addition, the trust and satisfaction toward mobile banking have a positive influence on crossbuying intention. The result of this study not only provides an academic contribution to the multichannel service and SSC literature but also provides suggestions for service providers who wish to develop their multiple-SSC strategies.

        Using multiple channels along the buying process is common for today’s consumers. Research suggests that additional channels enhance customer satisfaction and ultimately customer loyalty. However, research that focuses on the relationship between satisfaction with multichannel performance and behavioral consequences is relatively sparse. As this topic is of tremendous importance for retail practice this study attempts to investigate main drivers of consumer satisfaction in a multichannel environment and the consequences concerning consumer behavior and loyalty. Therefore we take on an approach of Renoux (1973) that considers explicitly the aspect of the consumer decision stage in order to explain satisfaction with a multichannel retailer. The study focuses on satisfaction in the pre-purchase and purchase stage. Furthermore, it is investigated whether the perceived integration of channels has an influence on satisfaction with a multichannel retailer. Results of a structural equation model based on a survey among 171 German multichannel shoppers show that satisfaction in the pre-purchase stage is a crucial predictor of consumer’s overall satisfaction with a multichannel retailer. It has also a strong impact on satisfaction in purchase stage and can therefore influence the buying decision. To add, perception of the integration of channels positively influences the overall satisfaction with the multichannel retailer. Satisfaction, in turn, can lead to loyalty to the multichannel retailer and thereby influences repurchase and supplementary purchase intention, and recommendation intention. The study concludes with managerial implications and suggests directions for further research.

        Gaudi, Naber & Sackett pointed out that if an event is caused by a lens system containing more than two planets, all planets will affect the central region of the magnification pattern, and thus the existence of the multiple planets can be inferred by detecting additionally deformed anomalies from intensive monitoring of high magnification microlensing events. Unfortunately, this method has important limitations in identifying the existence of multiple planets and determining their parameters (the mass ratio and the instantaneous projected separation) due to the degeneracy of the resulting light curve anomalies from those induced by a single planet and the complexity of multiple planet lensing models. In this paper, we propose a new channel to search for multiple planets via microlensing. The method is based on the fact that the lensing light curve anomalies induced by multiple planets are well approximated by the superposition of those of the single planet systems where the individual planet-primary pairs act as independent lens systems. Then, if the source trajectory passes both of the outer deviation regions induced by the individual planets, one can unambiguously identify the existence of the multiple planets. We illustrate that the probability of successively detecting light curve anomalies induced by two Jovian-mass planets located in the lensing zone through this channel will be substantial. Since the individual anomalies can be well described by much simpler single planet lensing models, the proposed method has an important advantage of allowing one to accurately determine the parameters of the individual planets.
