The genus Hypsopygia was established by Hübner, 1825, with type species Phalaena costalis Fabricius, 1775. Hypsopygia is characterized by the elongated uncus and valva, and pointed saccus in the male genitalia. It consists of 105 described species (Nuss et al., 2003–2024) in the world, and 11 species have been recorded in Korea (Kim & Paek, 2020; Shin et al., 2023). In this study, we reported one newly recorded species in Korea. Illustrations of adults provided, with information of host plants of all examined species.

A total of 187 species are involved in the genus Pidonia Mulsant (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lepturinae) worldwide, of which 174 species are distributed in Eurasia. Since Bates recorded P. (P.) gibbicollis in 1888, a total of 17 species have been recorded in Korea. After An & Kwon’s study on Korean Pidonia in 1991, no taxonomic study has been carried out for almost 30 years, making it difficult to identify the species due to their mutations. In this presentation, we provide an update on the taxonomic study of Korean Pidonia and report a newly recorded species, P. (P.) obscurior hakusana, in Korea.

The genera Spilonota Stephens, 1834 and Lepteucosma Diakonoff, 1971 are belonging to the tribe Eucosmini, subfamily Olethreutinae. In Korea, there are five species of Spilonota recorded: S. albicana (Motschulsky, 1866), S. eremitana Moriuti, 1972, S. lechriaspis Meyrick, 1932, S. ocellana ([Denis & Schiffermüller], 1775), and S. semirufana (Christoph, 1882). Only one species of Lepteucosma is recorded: L. huebneriana (Kocak, 1980). Both genera are agricultural pests that infest host plants belonging to the family Rosaceae, specifically causing damage to genus Malus (apple trees) and genus Rubus (blackberry plants), respectively. In this study, we provide a checklist of Korean Spilonota and Lepteucosma, with information of host plants and distribution for each examined species.

Eucosmini Meyrick, 1909 is one of the largest groups in subfamily Olethreutinae, with more than 1,650 species of 128 genera. In Korea, 96 species of 26 genera have been recorded by several authors (Park, 1981, Bae, 1992, et al.). In this study, we provide a brief overview and a checklist of Eucosmini, with illustrations of adults and genitalia for examined species.

Mirinae is the most diverse subfamily within the family Miridae (Hemiptera: Heteroptera), and includes more than 4,000 species. In Korea, mirids were first recorded from Jeju Island in the mid-1960s. Since that study, numerous plant bug species from the Korean peninsula have been newly recognized and described. Previously, 101 species of Mirini were recorded from Korean peninsula. In this study, we provide an additional information of Mirini in Korea with a description of new species and new records.

The genus Glyphodes Guenée, 1854 reported over 150 species in the world. They are widely distributed throughout tropical regions, with some species penetrating into subtropical and warm temperate areas. Five species of the genus Glyphodes Guenée are reported for the first time in Laos: Glyphodes actorionalis Walker, G. bivitralis Guenée, G. caesalis Walker, G. extorris Dognin, and G. stolalis Guenée. Apristus Chaudoir is one of the genera in the tribe Lebiini Bonelli (Coleoptera: Carabidae). This genus is morphologically similar to Anomotarus and Syntomus of Lebiini. However, Apristus can be distinguished from the other genera by having a combination of the following characteristics: basal pronotum with distinct posterior angles in dorsal view; tarsal claws smooth without denticulate or pectinate. A total of 61 species of Apristus are distributed worldwide and only one species, Apristus striatus Motschulsky has been known in the Korean peninsula. As results of taxonomic studies on Korean Apristus species, we discovered a newly recorded species, Apristus cuprascens Bates of Apristus. A key to the Korean Apristus species, photographs of diagnostic characteristics and illustrations of male genitalia are provided.

The genus Miaenia Pascoe, 1864 (Coleoptera Cerambycidae) in Korea is taxonomically reviewed in this study. Miaenia was erected by Pascoe (1864) based on the type species M. marmore. Miaenia has been accepted as a subgenus of Sciades for a long time, howerer, Roguet (2012) considered Sciades as a synonym of the genus Miaenia. Previously, two species, M. fasciata fasciata (Matsushita, 1943) and M. maritima Tsherepanov, 1979, of the genus have been reported in South Korea. In this paper, M. tonsa (Bates) is recorded in Korea for the first time. A key to the Korean Miaenia species, diagnoses, illustrations of diagnostic including male genitalia are provided.
